The hair and glasses are fab. I especially like outfits 1 and 2. The shoes are all beautiful too. I can’t offer hair advice, as hair is my worst thing.
But about that grey distressed jacket.... it’s really cool, and also a bit unique. I’m just wondering whether it’d be nice
with some olive pants? Or even over an olive dress... I’m just thinking out loud.

Sorry if this is late, just seen it lol. I don't know if this will work on straight hair, but on naturally curly/ wavy hair like mine, the crunchy curl look (think ramen noodles) is often caused by too much product. You have short hair, so I believe you shouldn't be using more than a coin sized amount of styling product. It's also more likely to happen in low porosity hair (that doesn't absorb products as readily).

The other technique I've seen is to apply the product, let it dry, & then scrunch to get the extra product out after (when it's a little damp). Since your hair is straight, you might even be able to get away with just running a comb through it to get rid of extra product (doing so with curls would ruin the curl pattern).

Hope that helps!

Oh Karen13!!! I love the hairstyle with the hair brushed back that way!!! It is stunning.

I am also enamored with your sweaters. They look really nice on you with the hair (both before and after) and your glasses. Good job.

Thank you everyone for the feedback and all your help over the past nearly two years! After 21 months on YLF, my closet is finally getting to a point where I have enough pieces that make me happy that I can post three outfits in a week!

I haven't worn the military jacket much yet as I struggled to style it. This is a look I will return to and vary. Cashmere sweaters are apparently a wardrobe essential in winter for me.

The slicked back hair is a look I will have to work with - I had just gotten out of the shower and wanted to snap a pic before I ran out the door. But I like it in the pics.

I may have to work on a style statement and come up with some 2018 goals now, as they are steps that have add a lot of value for other members ; I have resisted out of laziness. I can check off a big goal for 2017 - new glasses that I love that make a statement but not too much for me to handle! Progress is being made. Is "Subtle (and sometimes Not So Subtle) Bling" a style statement?

Great outfits all around! I especially love the scarf in #1.

#2 is so elegant, and I like how there is a lot of textural/pattern interest within the overall tonal framework.

I LOVE the new glasses!

Sorry that I don't have any tips on pixie styling. Have you tried a texturizing paste? That would probably create a different look from slicked back, though.

You look lovely Karen. Love the blue-green combo in 1, the sleek pants in 2 and the fun military jacket in the other outfits. I like the way the burgundy top picks out the jacket trim. New specs and hair look great. (Sorry, I am the last person to be able to assist with hair styling tips. We are experiencing high humidity at the moment and my hair is a frizz ball!)

I've been loving my burgundy capsule and have made many additions, including my burgundy frame progressive lenses selected with YLFs help https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....mall-faces

#1 pre haircut, new Macy's cashmere v neck, Wit and Wisdom Jeans, Bionica Corset Boots.

#2-3 post hair cut to a casual holiday dinner/fundraiser. Navy cashmere sweater, sailor pants and my DIY burgundy lofers. I felt very tall - I was looking eye to eye with 5'5" people!. Mom's pearl necklace would have been too much for this event, but I will wear it next time. I did work in her pearl dangly earrings.

#4-6 new to me hair style. Yet another cashmere sweater (dark burgundy old),Levis 315 jeans and my first wearing of my Bella Vita Mod Italy boots, which I see were well loved by the forum a few months before I joined. I hope they are still current because I love them. I read reviews that they ran a bit narrow, and took a chance on a screaming deal on the 7WW, and it fits like a W in the toe. It was a bit roomy in the ankle/heel. but a soft insert fixed that. Super comfy!

Loving the new specs. The burgundy makes my eyes greener. And I can see so much better with the new prescription. YLF helped a ton. I would probably have settled for a frame at my optometrist's, without the resounding support for this one. I bought it online and had no problem getting it made at the doctors.

BTW, I need fun easy ways to style the pixie. What products do you use to make it stay slicked back without it looking hard and crunchy?
