Kathie: Thank you, I am glad you like the textures in outfit one. Texture is important- i'm only just beginning to delve into it.
Katerina: Thanks for your lovely feedback. I think it would be nice to have a rather long white button-down shirt under the grey sweater, just so I could have the collar and a slightly ruffled hem poking out. It would actually be a useful thing to purchase purely as a layering piece....
Liesbath: thank you for the comments, I do appreciate it. I agree with you, I like having the scarf long with the second outfit, otherwise it looks like I am "chopped in half".

Aida: your comments are very astute. I have a feeling some large white hoop earrings would be great in outfit 1! You are right, my hair doesn’t have the brightness to balance the white at the waist.... maybe that’s why I find wearing white so TRICKY!! I never thought of it that way before.
I will write comprehensive replies to everyone once I get a few more moments spare. Thanks to all!

Nice! I really like the first look, lots of fun dramatic elements (esp. sleeves and leggings) there. Re the white bit, perhaps swapping the black necklace with one that has some white? Or maybe big bubble earrings that are white? Something like that. I don't think your hair alone is quiiiiite enough to balance the little white bit but it's very close to enough; if you have that other white element then the sleeves will stand out a bit more. I'm the wrong person to ask if a scarf is too big/dramatic soooo I think it looks fine ^^ I prefer, visually, the longer version a la #7 but I know I'd be happier wearing the wrapped up version in #5; for some reason I don't mind all the black in #7 but find #5 a little heavy. Still thinking on that.

I was thinking about what The Cat said. It might be a question of how the colors are being rendered on the monitor. I just received a pair of light wash jeans which I thought would be slightly teal, and they turned out to be closer to lilac. It might well be that the colors appear more harmonious with your complexion when viewed on her screen also IRL. Limitations on the technology.

Part of what I’m perceiving is that I can really tell that you enjoy the Care Bears colors and that you are questioning yourself in the more ubiquitous primary colors.

Love, ,love, love your cozy weekend outfit with the textured leggings, bell sleeved top, scarf and beads! I also really like your skirt outfit. It is fun to wear a skirt in winter and the color is wonderful! I like the big scarf and prefer the way you show it in #7. It draws the eye up and down.

I really like both outfits. With #1, I agree that a swingier hem might be a nice look. For outfit #2, I prefer the scarf as in pic 7. I think it's a great look if (unlike me) you can avoid getting it caught in doors, hooking it on things, or dipping it in your food!

I think both outfits are really great. The first one has lovely textural interest and the sleeves of that sweater add interest. And the second one is downright fun.

Can you wear the scarf from #1 with that skirt, too? I'd like that combo as well.

I really like the outfit with the colourful scarf and skirt and don't think the colours and layers overpower you--maybe because (1) the white stripes and the golden skirt kind of echo your light hair, and (2) most blue and green tones are lovely with your beautiful eyes. In fact, I think this outfit is a GREAT example of how a person with light colouring can wear black without looking drab, sad or boring.

I’m siding with your husband. I only see the big striped scarf in those photos, and you get lost behind it. It has some tan and black or tan and navy stripes, and I think if the whole thing was like that, (just two colors) you could pull off the large volume and still be the focus of the outfit. Or if you put that number of colors into a little cute neckerchief it would work. But volume, plus pattern, plus color is a lot for being bunched up near your face. You could definitely wear a maxi dress with this much going on, if the dress structure had a nice clean vertical integrity.

Looking great in both outfits! I like the big scarf because it is “fun” and the colors are fun and the short skirt is fun. It all works together.

Interesting, your use of the white layer in the leggings outfit. I read something recently about how an outfit might be boring and needs a big value contrast or color contrast- even if you feel it would interrupt visual flow or be in bad taste. I’ve been experimenting. And I think in this outfit, the white adds something where the all dark outfit might be too “expected”, you know?

Nice! I like how the shirt peeking out in 1 adds another layer and a crisp quality. For the second outfit I prefer the way you wore the scarf in 7, perhaps because the other style emphasizes the graphic quality of the outfit and I’m not used to seeing that on you. Just my personal opinion of course!

Both are great, Jussie! I especially love the second outfit the way you wear the scarf in pic 5, it’s superb.
Have you tried to tack the white top in the first outfit? Would it work or is the grey sweater too short? I like it as is, but was thinking that it would also be nice without the white layer. The sleeves - scarf - necklaces combo is really cool.

Hi guys here are my weekend outfits. The first I was reasonably happy with, its was fun to wear a high heeled boot with a textured legging. I felt like I needed the long white top peeking out under the sweater because the very top of the thigh in these legging isn’t flattering. It’d be fun to have a long swing top under the sweater instead....

The second outfit I really liked. My hubby thought the scarf was a bit too big and dramatic, I rather like that about it but I’m curious to find out what fabbers think. Also it was fun to wear a skirt in winter, it felt a bit special.
Thanks a lot for any feedback or comments! Cheers!
