I've seen men in their 70's at it, and occaisionally there is a woman in her 60's. Our venue is small with 150-200 participants, and the age groups go by 10 year increments, starting with 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49' and 50-99!</p> <p>I've been a runner in one form or other since jr high school. I got into short course triathlon 10 years ago when I found I just wasn't recovering from training (marathons, half marathons) like I did when I was younger. Why be good at one sport when you can be average at three! </p> <p>I trained year round, but only did our local event. When my son got serious about the sport 3 years ago, I decided if I was going to drive him all over the province to compete, I would participate in races too! I aim for one a month, or 4 over the summer. </p> <p>Pil, those are my back up specs. I hand off my specs just before the swim, and have a pair sitting in my helmet at the transition spot. A Fabber suggested white bottoms, so Saturday that is what I tried. </p> <p>Sunday (today) I participated in our local triathlon, and secured 3rd place in my age group (50-99!). #1 son placed second in his age group'and 4th overall. One of the participants, a swim training friend of mine volunteered to French braid my hair! Wish I could do this myself. </p> <p>I wasn't planning on doing any more shopping for summer clothes, but checked out the end of season sales and picked up this 'fluid fit' top. The print really appealed to me, and the way it flows away from the body is so nice for hot weather. (It is 32deg. C here!) This is my second high/ low top. </p> <p>Thanks for looking! </p>
