Velvet is fluid and has a lot of drape (the polyester less so) &nbsp;so better for certain types of garments such as tops or fuller loose fitting pants. I also had a garment that was labelled silk velvet, and silk was indeed featured in the fabric content. I used to think that velvet didn't contain much cotton, but that velveteen was predominantly cotton. Of course, I see things mis-labeled all the time. These pants have a low soft pile and a high cotton content with very little 'give' or stretch. They are not stiff, and wrinkles brush out fairly easily.
