Thanks Suz. I'm sure I will get some use out of the top eventually. I don't like buying something to wear it only once and this really has the potential to look nice... Too bad the docs were too small, they would have been awesome with the second outfit! I'm definitely going to keep looking for a new pair of robust shoes that goes under jeans.

Thanks Jackie. Yes, definitely a workhorse! It's such a nice quality and color and just soo cozy. Sorry that the first outfit is so hard to see - all that black is hard to photograph. You could see the details much better IRL.

I am sorry for your loss. That shirt in #3 looks wonderful on you - it's too bad it's not sitting properly. Wow that sweater sure is a workhorse for you! Yes, good ideas to change it up from sneakers. Funny how we get enough of one look and are ready for a change. I like the dress look in 1/2 but can't really see too much - could be my monitor. Thanks for sharing

Astrid, you look lovely in all of these outfits. I love the dress with the higher neckline. That's a smart way to extend its life. I also really like the second outfit but understand that it might feel too classic and not "modern" or "interesting" enough -- I know that is how I would feel in it, too. So your idea to edge it up with some very current footwear is a good one. Too bad about the top in 3. It's a fabulous outfit on you. But I'm glad you will get use from it in other stylings after the sad associations have lost some of their sting. Hugs!

Thanks Shiny! Actually I had casserole yesterday. No worries, I'm alright. I just managed to eat better and therefore lost the extra weight I had gained through bad eating habits in the past. I've always been slender before that. I agree that the shirt looks fine in the picture, the problem was that it would ride up with movement.

Thanks Amiable!

I really love all three Astrid - I'm glad that semi-tucking can save that top.

Sorry for your loss, Astrid. :-(

You look great in all three. I particularly like #3. I don't see a banded issue. I also love the proportions of #2 -- you look especially trim here, I hope you are eating okay? Do I need to send a casserole?

Also I love your jeans. Fit you really well.

Thanks Eva! I think I'm going to wear the dress tied up from now on. And yes I agree, the colors in #3/4 definitely flatter me. The shirt in #5/6 was fine tucked into my black skirt, so that definitely works. I just didn't want to wear this combination so soon after the funeral, I felt like I had to go for a completely different vibe. Maybe I'll try it with the black skirt, patterned hose, boots and denim jacket next- that might be different enough and should work fine.

Thanks Thimblelina! Yes, comfort is definitely important to me. I can't stand outfits where I have to tug on something or other all day long.

Yes, I agree. Those are all cute looks on you. But I understand: comfort is important and sometimes things that look good still don't 'work' if they're creeping up, etc.

I think you look great in all of them! I can't see the jeggings in the first outfit, but I love the dress tied up. And 3/4 is so classic & scholarly: the colours are great on you. I can see what you mean about it being tame, probably because it's more classic, but I think it lets your hair & face shine. 5/6 looks a lot more 'urban cool' in comparison, but I like the softness the cardi brings to it. Too bad the shirt wouldn't behave; I hope it works with skirts.

#1-2
Wearing my old jeggings - I snatched them out of my sister's closet again because she wasn't wearing them anyway and they are great to wear with my boots. Does this work even though the dress is longer than tunic length? I also tied the ties so the dress looks high-necked, I'm not sure why I never tried that before. I really like this, I think it changes the feel of the whole look.

#3-4
Love the new pullover. I've worn it constantly when I was at home, travelling light. I do like the shirt underneath it, but all in all the outfit felt too tame. I think I'm just not feeling the sneakers look anymore. I guess I need some shoes with a bit of edge to keep my outfits interesting enough, especially wearing straight legs or bootcuts.

#5-6
This was the top I bought and wore for the funeral. I really liked this in theory, but it didn't work out because the banded hem of the top wasn't staying put. I think it works better tucked into a skirt.

Would love to hear your thoughts on these!
