Thanks Caro! I sometimes don't understand people either...

Thanks Asingh! I like the sound of a colorful necklace or scarf, I'm going to try that. I do like mustard, but only on other people - it doesn't suit me at all.

Thanks bj1111! I agree, you never ask a woman if she's pregnant.

Thanks Ingunn! You're right, it is hilarious.

Thanks Shannon! I'm definitely going to wear it again. I think I just wanted to try something different for a change and I liked the way it worked out. And leans/jeans tucked into boots is just practical.

Thanks Rae! I agree that it's a bit different for me. This will certainly never be my go-to outfit formula, but it's fun to wear all the same!

Both are great! But I especially love #2. It is different for you, but I find it both flattering and a bit edgy with the boots and drapey sweater. I'd say a successful experiment.

Well I adore the second outfit - the dress works really well over the leans and whoever asked if you were pregnant needs to get their eyes examined! I find this outfit flattering, comfortable looking and visually interesting.

And of course, you look adorable in your plaid shirt!

I like #1 a lot, but #2 is K-worthy in my opinion! Great combo of colors and texture here.

People are people, you know. One must expect stupidity from time to time.(You looking pregnant - that's hilarious)

anywhoo, much much love espevially for the second outfit. love the color combo, the draping, and the dress over pants combo.

Astrid, I like both the outfits on you, but the second one is better. And no, you do not look pregnant. In fact you look super-stylish. How about adding a pop of bright colour to the outfit in the form of a necklace or a scarf? Also, I agree that the shirt would look great with a cardigan, I don't know why, but I think a mustard cardigan would look great with that shirt.

Ornella, tell me about it! I think it's because I'm the only one who's interested in fashion and even taking some risks. They'd never try something like this and I do think this outfit is rather tame. But thanks for the compliment! I felt great wearing it.

Astrid, you hang around some seriously rude people, honestly Not just that, seems like they have no eye for anything that showcases imagination and, heaven forbid, style.

Thumbs up for #1, but #2 is beyond fabulous. Probably my all-time favorite on you. Flared skirt looks lovely on you (it IS flattering, as is the cardigan!), but we knew that already. What this outfit shows is fab color combination and clever pairing of existing items. Well done for stepping out of your comfort zone. You look lovely!

Thanks Inge! Yes, it was the empire waist in combination with the cardi. I had a look when I came home and I saw why they asked - the loose swinging cardigan (short in the back) resulted in me looking larger in front than I really am depending on the way I was standing. I think the plaid shirt is too short to go with the leans, I don't feel like I have enough coverage in this combination, but I can switch the leans for some patterned hose - that would be fun!

Thanks Ceit! I've worn the cardigan with the shirt before, but it doesn't work with these pants. I might need to invest in some well fitting skinnies after all. I think I just have to find a dark unobtrusive pair with a nice rear view and I would be fine. ;)

Thanks Suz! I also felt like the low contrast colors helped. I like the cardigan over the shirt, I've worn that before. I've also worn the cardigan with the dress you mentioned, that's actually one of my favourite ways to wear it. It is a lot shorter in the back and I feel like it looks better with dresses underneath because of that.

Thanks Firecracker! The dress is navy, yes. When I did belt it I wrapped the cardigan in the front and then belted at my natural waist (which is quite high) so that you couldn't see the empire waist anymore. I agree that a cropped cardigan could work, but I don't have one.

I like both outfits on you. That blouse is a great fit and the tapered style, along with the necklace you've added, gives an easy polished look.
The second outfit is not as streamlined, but it certainly works, to my eye, and I do find it flattering on you. The cardigan open in the front gives that long line of dark color (navy?) underneath, which is nicely elongating. The dress has an empire waist, right? I wouldn't try to belt it. Another look you could try over the dress is a shorter cardigan or shrug (very cropped, at or just below the empire waistline) that would reveal the A-line of the dress.
Hooray for experimenting with new layers, and those boots with the skinnies are fab!

I am with Inge. I don't know what those people were thinking! In this photo you do not look pregnant. You look super-pretty and fun. I like the grey and navy combo. Because it is a column of colour I don't feel you are overwhelmed by this at all.

I also love the first look and agree with Inge it would be fun to wear that shirt with the sweater.

Have you ever worn the sweater over top of your super winter dress, the checked one?

Well, you know from my WIW that I am all over wearing dresses over jeggings, and also waterfall cardis. Perhaps you were asked just because it is a different silhouette than they are used to seeing on you!

I would love to see the plaid shirt with the cardi and jeggings and boots

Both these colour combos look wonderful on you, Astrid. I especially like the navy with the grey. I like the dress over the jeans, and would never think you were pregnant (silly people;-) Perhaps it's the empire waist that is throwing them off, but like I said, I like the look.

Perhaps you could also try the plaid shirt from outfit 1 with the cardigan, leans and boots in outfit 2? Or switch out the leans in outfit 2 for a pair of fun patterned hose?

Love the new boots!

Here are two recent outfits of mine. The first is a new favourite, easy and practical. I have worn this to work two times already, it's the perfect outfit for looking put together and lugging books around. Bonus points for the sneakers for keeping my feet from freezing, I seriously never had ones that were as warm as these. And they are super lightweight at the same time!

The second outfit is somewhat of an experiment. I really wanted to wear my new boots with leans tucked into them and the only clean top long enough to go over them was this jersey dress. I also added my merino wool waterfall cardigan, because I hadn't worn it for quite some time. This is a lot of volume on top for me - I first tried belting it, but then I decided to leave the belt off. This was actually quite comfortable, but not as flattering as I thought, because during the day I got seriously asked if I was pregnant. Do you think this works? Or is it overkill? Any ideas what I could change up?
