Maybe a pencil skirt with a cropped jacket. It feels like it needs to be paired with crisper elements. Even boot cut jeans and a cropped tailored jacket. The fluidness of the sweater distracts of the floral. Again, I think juxtaposing the organic floral pattern with sharper lines might help it come to life.</p> <p>#3 - I do miss a little color but I like the long line of this outfit. But I'm also tempted to either put a higher heel or shorten skirt. I feel like it has a bit of leg shortening effect. I wish I didn't run so cold, though. I sometimes start the day with my sleeves rolled or scrunched, and then I pull them down because I'm always freezing. I think I did leave the cardi unbuttoned the last time I wore the shirt, which made the black piping down the middle visible.</p> <p>gauche - I've actually been pondering whether the floral shirt needs to go to the donation bag at the end of the season for some of the reasons you mention. The unexpected color, peek of plaid,&nbsp;whimsical sweater, buttoned-up look all work great.&nbsp;Love both the black/white shirts -- you should wear them often --&nbsp;but the floral top in the first pic gives me pause. I think a solid color might work better (especially&nbsp;after seeing the other two pics) or maybe just a nonfloral to give a little crispness for work. I especially like the gray trousers on you -- the straight-legged shape makes a great line with the long cardigan. Anyway, just FWIW. (Didn't mean to neglect #3, but it <b>is</b> hard to see detail, and I miss the shot of bright color on you. It was the first time I've worn the shirt and cardi in a while; they are lighter fabrications and come out more at other times of the year.&nbsp;</p> <p>(2) Wednesday: Yellow bunny cardi (Modcloth), plaid blouse (JCrew), black skirt (BR, very old), tights, boots. I always get compliments when I wear this cardi: I think my coworkers enjoy the touch of whimsy. There's a bunny on the back, too. This was the first time I've worn the plaid blouse, and I think it's going to be a really useful layer in my black-heavy wardrobe.</p> <p>(3) Thursday: White shirt with black piping (BR), black cardi (Loft), navy pindot skirt (Loft). I unfortunately took this picture in such a way that you can barely see the most interesting details on the shirt. I really like this shirt, which is relatively new,&nbsp;but am trying to find more ways to style it. I think the last time I wore it with tweed pants and the same cardi. I liked this outfit more in person than I do in this photo; maybe too much details is lost?&nbsp;</p> <p>Comments and suggestions welcome. </p>
