I love all kinds of sheep (and goat and alpaca) wool no matter how scratchy others find it but can't stand angora either: the tiniest amount will make me itch like crazy.

That orange looks wonderful on you! And I'm very impressed with your cord transformation.

I love everything about the first outfit, mostly because I love to see color. The VC skirt looks so appropriate. I have never altered pants before; I just give the offenders away and look for a new one. Good on you!

You are so talented!! The skinnies look great. Good to know about the EF Merino. I cannot wear angora either, because despite its softness against my hand, I find it itchy once I put it on, even with a cami.

Merino is super soft, I'm glad you found a wool you like (and I'm not surprised it's merino for the win). Love that orange on you, too! Looks like cord transformation worked well, too.

That shade of red-orange is lovely on you. I'm wearing a thrifted EF merino wool shell today and finding it non-itchy, especially after washing.

I do like this shade of orange on you. And isn't it awesome when you find an item you have been looking for that works for you? Glad you tried on EF merino wool and that is a winner!

In my search for long tops to wear with leggings, I tried on everything under the sun except angora/hair because it makes me sneeze. It turns out that Eileen Fisher merino wool jersey doesn't bother me in the slightest, even against bare skin! I'm quite surprised. I found two boyfriend cardigans at NR -- one in gray (hooray, been looking for this for months) and a bright reddish orange. I LOVE orange but know that different shades don't always love me, so I've passed on a few orange tops lately. I think this one is a good fit for me.

I paired it with a VC tube skirt for church, because lately I feel like the tube skirts are a little too va-va-voom on me. The long cardi toned it down.

I also finally chopped these gray bootcut cords into skinnies. While gray bootcuts were a workhorse for me a few years ago, this fall I haven't been reaching for this pair I found over the summer. A few weeks ago, I decided I wanted to add gray skinny jeans to my wardrobe. Then I remembered that I'd used this tutorial to turn straights into skinnies last year, and thought I'd try it again with my cords. I'll wear them this week and take photos with better lighting! But this is the gist of it.
