One of my classes at uni was to help networking techies gain some appreciation of, and competency in, the role soft skills would play in their jobs. It was sad to see how difficult it was for the really bright ones to comprehend why they would get passed over in favor of their supposedly less competent fellow students when it came to jobs. It was usually the students with the highest GPAs who had the most trouble finding employment after graduation.
