KM, there must be moving gremlins! I still can't find my expensive ergonomic camera strap from my recent move. Sigh.

Suz, I think dressy flat boots would be a great addition for you! I can see them working in a lot of situations. These are the Reiker Sybille and they're genuinely waterproof; I've worn them walking across a field w a foot of fresh snow on it (so no path to follow, just plunging in w every step) and my feet have stayed dry. Maybe Reiker would be a good brand to look into. And thank you for the outfit compliments! :)

Thank you Angie! I'm going to have to browse old photos from the 40s and see if I can find some inspiration. Such a strange/dramatically changing/challenging time period for so much of the world.

Thistle is such a clever hide-and-go seek doggie! I see her....

You look so beautiful in these soft neutrals (or mostly neutrals) and the outfit is so much fun with that faux fur scarf. Your new hat is beautifully textured. Just gorgeous. Wow. I am glad that winter is inspiring you. I need to take a leaf from YOUR book.

Flat dressier boots would really help.

E.: I did move a lot in the last decade, and everytime it seems something goes missing even though I'm a bit OCD about my stuff.

I also didn't know Dillards was still in business!

Diane, cats can be a bit feisty w their paws! Luckily Thistle settles for just using my hands as a head rest. Lol

Ruth, Thistle spends much of her day napping, which suits me perfectly. Having a low energy dog who still enjoys walks and short games of fetch is so little work! Lol Thank you for the outfit feedback; I like the little dose of glam the scarf brings. The coat is vintage (I'm guessing 70s): I got it off EBay for $20 inc shipping last year! There are some great heavy wool coat bargains to be found in their vintage category.

RachyLou, would you believe it's from Dillards?! I didn't even know they were still in business. Hehe

Beth Ann, feel free to send over more winter! I'm not ready for it to end; maybe by April I'll be reconciled. But March 1st is way too soon!

Thnx Shevia!

Thank you KM; I really appreciate the compliments. Too bad your scarf disappeared; I have a few clothing items like that, that aren't around anymore but that I don't remember getting rid of. It's weird! I always blame moving.

Such a beautiful color palette, and I love reading the meaning and thought you put behind each choice.

And what a beautiful skirt and coat. They have a similar vibe with the full volume and the belts (on the skirt and coat) creating these sculptural folds.

I used to have a faux-fur scarf like that. I don't know for the life of me why I ever parted with it--I don't even remember parting. I loved it! So warm, cute, and easy to wear.

PS. You can tell I'm a fan of your style, no?

Winter can be invigorating -- although I think it should end, promptly, on the first of March!

Love the outfit -- particularly with the hat and coat added!

We've sent our snow your way! Enjoy!

How inspired to base your outfit on the colours of the nature around you! The taupes/browns/cream/blue are beautiful together and suit you so well. I absolutely love the shape of your coat. Your faux fur scarf is rather glam and no wonder you were warm and cosy all day. And I can spy Thistle too - just!

And of course you mustn't disturb Thistle with your typing - I'm sure she needs a long nap after all the frolicking outdoors :)

I see Thistle! so cute!

BTW I was typing one handed once while Bilbo was on my lap. He watched as my hand darted back and forth and thought it was fair game to take a swipe at with claws out...ouch!

Back to your outfit ..I love the taupe and blue pairing Eva. Nice textures, with the wool and fur, and also I like the waist definition created by the sliver of white. The coat makes for a lovely silhouette and it plays nicely with the colour of your fab newly knitted hat.

I find this Northern winter endlessly inspiring. On Saturday, I thought I'd try to make an outfit reflecting it, and I knew I wanted to incorporate my faux fur scarf. I chose a muted blue tee (whose sleeves I should have rolled or scrunched up before pics) to reflect the glimpses of the sky when the cloud cover occasionally clears, and then this heathered brown tweed skirt to both reference the bare trees and echo the scarf's colours (My mom surprised me with this last Christmas & I couldn't imagine a more perfect colour for me! It's so delicious to wear too.) The grey wool tights, as they're the only wool tights I have & it was chilly out, but grey works for winter too I think. And finally some touches of cream in belt & socks for the snow (which has since become more than a *touch* in the landscape; we got over a foot since Sunday!). The scarf is a pretty big statement piece on its own, so the only accessory I added was a little silver barrette, as silver feels more wintry than gold.

It was chilly enough for me to want a heavy wool coat for my outerwear & as I'd worn the blue one the day before, I opted for the oatmeal one instead. My knee high weather proof riding boots felt like the best 'bookend' for the scarf & finally I wore my most recently finished winter hat, as I'm excited with how it turned out. I also wore my mittens, but I don't put them on until I've left (I can't lock my apartment door while wearing them, lol), so that's why they're no in the pics.

I was comfy & warm all day; long sleeve knitwear & full skirt is an easy cool weather dressing formula for me, just tweaking the fabrics as the temperatures shift. As always, all feedback is welcome. I know this post is a bit shorter than my usual; Thistle is asleep with her head on one of my arms, which makes typing more a challenge. Speaking of the pup, bonus points to those who spot her in the outerwear photos! She was keeping an eye on me from a different vantage point that day, so you can only see a bit of her face. hehe
