The author, Nell Zink, is interesting and got a strong positive review for this book in the NYTimes, but we all spent an hour talking about how much we disliked it. haha! &nbsp;Just not for us. Then we moved on to other books, television, film, and other things.</p> <p><b>Brooklyn: </b>I love the cigar/nicotine connection! Never even thought of that!!! :)</p> <p><b>Lisap:</b> These pants are not denim. They're a thick cotton, almost like a denser khaki pant material. And I am not wearing nude hose. Naked leg with short black socks inside cigar booties; tiny bit of sock showing over the top. But I hear you about the "man's hairy leg" issue! I actually had that thought for a second when I sat at a coffee shop before dinner and crossed my legs. But, I really like emphasizing the cropped-ness of cropped pants, and a sliver of skin accomplishes that. It's more JFE than a sophisticated, streamlined look with covered leg.
