I really like the cargos scrunched and also the khakis and would keep the khakis is the cargos are about to go or you wear this a lot. Love the silver jacket - keep! Blue mesh sweater outfit is excellent. I am a bit off cardigans lately but the long one does look good! You clearly did a great cull because what you are left with is fab!

See. This is exactly what I meant about how you have 'casual' perfected! Love evey single outfit and the variety of colors, lengths, all of it!

Both pair of the dark olive pants are wonderful. If you already own both, great. If not, I'd keep the second pair. Especially for summer when clothing rarely lasts for a second wearing before laundry.

I like the two longer cardis - the new white and the orchid one. You jacket vs blazer comment reminded me of what Aida just said about her 'dark horses' - departures from the target style - and how she still needs them. I feel that way too, when dressing just needs a departure, or some variety.

For the jackets, I'd wait until half way through their intended season. If you've found alternatives to wear instead of them, then you must be done!
I love the way you wear bf jeans! I like the WIW with both the jacket and cardi. Although I am partial to cardis for comfort reasons. Blazers look more polished though.

I don't think the scrunchable trousers are redundant. I love the way the last pair look on you, just the right amount of volume.

Good job on the Rack purchase. It's really hard to keep to a list. You will get a lot of wear out of the cardi and white has the effect of looking structured.

I would keep the two jackets, I don't think they are dated. Provided you like the way they look/feel.

Thanks, Firecracker! You are correct about the metallic jacket--it has more ease everywhere. I’ve always been attracted to dark neutrals but I agree that the metallic looks more current. I think it lightens and brightens as opposed to the dark purple. Thank you for the thumbs up on the cardigans I guess I will keep and enjoy both!

Thanks, Carole! Overzealous is exactly how I was feeling. I have such a hard time purging because I can always think of a reason to keep it. This time, I took pictures and purged what I didn’t love--several things are items that I liked enough at the time but didn’t feel were my style anymore. I still have a few things I could cull but I got rid of most of the chaff at least and hope to take my time with the rest.

I like all these looks on you. The sweater is a great find; it's a nice shape, fits well, and it sounds like you're going to get a lot of wear out of it. I do like that long cardigan shape on you, both in the white and the berry color. I agree the cardigan is a nice alternative to the jacket--both are fab on you.

I personally love that metallic jacket, and I would pick it over the darker one if you were going to send one away. I see textyle's point that it is bulkier; it's the sleeves, I think, which look a little wider. That's probably part of what makes it easier to layer over.

I, too, had to do a double-take on the pants--initially thought they were the same. But they are quite different in style, and it seems to be a color that goes with a lot of your tops. So--wise duplication, in my book.

Not sure I helped you cull anything!
Wow, what great pants, Kelly! I love the color and the fact that you can totally change it up just by scrunching upwards. The jackets are great, but I get what you mean with the cardi (also, I think us IT like a little more length once in awhile!) I have the same 14th st cardi in plum and I love that it's a Vneck. I love both leather jackets, Kelly, they are so classic. I always make the mistake of getting over zealous when culling my closet!

@Aida: Lol! That's a great mantra! I will commit that one to memory. I think I've spent most of my life avoiding white because of my innate ability to attract dirt and grime. My kids are getting older now though so I am a little less cautious--no more adorable, grubby fingers reaching for me (now they just want sweet moolah.) Hemming is a great idea especially if they aren't year round pants.
@Debora: I love your posts and how you rock the cardigans. I bought the BF cardis a couple years ago and kind of tucked them away along with the bootcuts. You reminded me how much I like them. So comfy but still polished!
@Karie: thanks for the pat on the back I was pretty happy with myself and no the bonus is, no returns!
@Bj1111: Thanks! I'll have to write the expiration date on my jacket so I don't forget to throw it out! LOL! Note taken, if purged

Great outfits, Kelly! I love the pants in #1, worn either way. The pants in #5 are great too, I would keep both. Blazer or jacket looks great, and like Aida said, it depends on what mood you're in. I also would like to see the BF's rolled up a little more. I don't think your jackets look dated, I think they look fab and I would keep them. And good for you for sticking to your goals and only buying one thing when shopping!

Kelly, seriously my default mode these days is WHITE. Can't figure out what's wrong with my outfit? Add some white. Can't decide which colorway to buy? Get the white. At the top of my spring/summer shopping list I have the words "When in doubt, GO WHITE" in big, bold letters 0:) I just can't seem to stop myself! Re the khakis, if you want to wear them scrunched up all the time, how about hemming them a little so that there is a bit less fabric around the knees?

Thanks for the hand holding, texstyle, Aida and Pil!

@Texstyle: The metallic is more roomy than the dark purple but that is what makes layering under it so much easier. I probably should have styled it a little better. Thank you for your honesty. The purple one is a little snug and I can only wear it with a light layer--I’m thinking that is why I don’t reach for it very often. I’ve been gravitating toward oversized sweaters these days and they are too bulky to wear under that one.

@Aida: Thank you. You are always so helpful! I hear you on the roll--these jeans are a little on the long side and I usually wear them tucked into boots. These are my sized up Always Skinny. Not as baggy as the BF but still have some slouch. Of course, I think you are brilliant to think of adding white to the berry and the metallic. Why can’t I think of things like that? I’ll have to think a bit more on the khakis--I’m wondering whether I am going to be able to stand having that much fabric hiked up to my knees in the heat of summer. I love the look but I’m not sure how practical it would be for me. I’m not sure they came in navy or not--mostly highligher and midtone pastels and a light stone color. I’m always drawn to olive Thanks again for sharing your fashion wisdom!

@pil: Thank you. I’m happy to hear the jackets will get a one year reprieve. I, too, love the idea of white with the metallic. I am going to try that this weekend.

Those are some versatile pants! I too would have thought they were the same pair if you hadn't said anything. If you'll wear both you may as well hang on to both : ) I would also vote to hang on to the jackets, just in case you might find yourself reaching for them next year. You can always consign them then. I like Aida's suggestion of a white tee with the metallic jacket. The eggplant cardigan looks GREAT and your white cardigan is very nice too. You'll probably be reaching for it quite often this summer.

So much good stuff here Kelly!

1- I like the pants both ways, but scrunched up in particular. I have a pair of silky cargo pants and only wear them scrunched up like that. SO fun with those sandals!

2- Yesterday's outfit is cute! I'd like to see that roll up higher or else unrolled though. FUN flats! I think both the blazer and cardigan work for the other outfit; blazer is more strict, cardi is more soft. I say go with whatever mood you're in The colors read more autumn to me though, I think you need to pop in some metallic or white!

3- White cardigan looks good! Didn't you have a cropped white denim jacket? If so it might be a duplication of function, but again the cardi is a softer look and the denim is harder.

4- LOVE that silver moto, definitely hang onto it! Wear it for the sci-fi trend, will look especially crisp with lots of white :D The black also looks good; if you aren't hankering for a different type of black leather jacket I would say hang onto this one for now, you might go back to it in the fall.

5- The khakis do feel slightly redundant, but not as much if you say your cargos aren't going to last much longer. I prefer the utility aspect of the cargos to the khakis for you, but do like these pants on you. Do they come in navy? Might work well for you, too. I don't consider khaki a year-round fabric in most places, but there in the bay area they might be

I really love that mesh cobalt sweater - loving blues of all types lately it seems. The cardi looks like a great cover up for summer. The jackets ---- well, I have to just say it, the metallic seems a bit too bulky on you to my eye. The darker one is good, but if you didn't reach for it, then maybe it's not right for you for some reason?

Thanks, Ceit and Brenda!
@Ceit: The silver moto was one of the first things I ever posted for K/R here at YLF. It got an almost universal thumbs up. I like it but haven't worn it much this year.
@Brenda: Thanks! I am always reaching for a white cardigan for spring and summer so I think I will use it a lot. I feel like as long as it is open, it draws the eyes away from my shoulders. I'm getting rid of the one I currently have because of the weird neckline and gathered sleeve caps (which I really dislike.)
Let's see...

I like the pants short and long... how versatile is that.

I really like the cardigan on you. In spite of my short legs, I really like long cardigans that aren't TOO long because they help balance out my shoulders by adding a bit to my hips. I see the same effect on you and like it. :)

I like the white cardigan on you. Do you think you will wear it a lot? I struggle with mine because I feel like it makes my shoulders more prominent. Maybe you can help me with mine. LOL

I don't know about dated, but I like the jackets on you and would wait another year. I'm interested in what others will say.

I would guess that the green pants in 1 and 5 were the same without you pointing it out, so I guess that makes them kinda redundant. :) I like both though I think I like the cargo ones more.

It was feeling pretty spring like but we are back to rain today. Just finished a major closet cull and need some hand holding. TIA!
1.) Army green pants at two lengths. Worn long in the am and short in the pm. Talk about versatile!
2.) WIW yesterday with my mesh sweater. WIW today with the cardigan. Debora's recent WIW post inspired me break out the cardigan. I thought I preferred blazers but I think a long cardigan makes for a nice change. Do you agree?
3.) Picked up this plain white v-neck cardigan at the Rack today. It's the only thing I bought-hallelujah! I shopped with a purpose and didn't get distracted (thanks to my recent closet cull.) Brand is 14th and something. (I said I'd report back on my light weight topper--this is it, I think!)
4.) Do these jackets look dated? I didn't wear them much this winter at all. Should I let them stay one more season or toss?
5.) Do you agree these green khakis are redundant? See pic 1. They can be worn full length or scrunched. I don't know how much longer my baggy cargos will last--are khakis are year round pant?

Sorry for all the questions. TIA!
