I think you look great, very you and quirky without being too visually overwhelming.</p> <p>Kathleen fasanella, a pattern designer, had a series of posts on her website, Fashion Incubator, a while ago, about the change in the design of jeans over the years in the rear area. She calls the old style bifurcated, where there's the aim of having separation between the cheeks, if you will, and the new style mono-butt, where everything is treated as one and there's not much cupping in the center back seam. Interesting if you're into such things. Because most of what was put out in the 80's was just god-awful, imho.&nbsp;&nbsp;Most. But not ALL.&nbsp;Most of the&nbsp;few select&nbsp;80's pieces in my closet&nbsp;I've actually owned<i> since</i> the 80's!)</p> <p>I think the white leather moto with the leopard cabbie hat addition edged it just to the other side of the line between "fashion fab" and "fashion faux pas." Mostly because I view that style of jacket as classic and timeless, the white color is very modern, imho (I think black would have made it look more dated). I also think cabbie style hats are pretty timeless as well.&nbsp;These styles&nbsp;may occasionally become more "on trend" but, overall, I just see them both as classic silhouettes/styles.</p> <p>The jeans have a serious history with me... I bought these Levi's jeans along with 2 other pairs of vintage early 80's Levi's at a flea market on Portobello road in London... <i>in 1991</i>.</p> <p>Yup. I've owned these bad boys for for 22 years and they were about a decade old when I bought them for about 5 pounds each at said flea market (I was living in London at the time) and can I just say, flea markets were even more glorious back in the days before ebay and online shopping!</p> <p>Over the years, these jeans have been repaired, patched, invisible stitched to reinforce weak areas and actually reconstructed on the bottom half (from one of the other pairs I picked up at the time that pretty much disintegrated in the seat area). I'll go some years without wearing them much and then back into rotation they'll come.</p> <p>I still have the other pair (which are even bigger/baggier) and will likely be taking that pair&nbsp;to one of the jeans speciality shops out here to have them restyled someday in the future.</p> <p>They sit high on the waist (and have a long rise typical of 80's jeans)&nbsp;like a mom jean but have the "too big for me, beat up slouchiness" of a BF jean. So maybe I should refer to them as "My Mom's Boyfriend's Jeans?"</p> <p>Whatever I call them, yesterday I decided to bring them out to play again. Was totally fine with ignoring flattering-factor (they do not do nice things for one's bottom)&nbsp;for uber comfort yesterday, and these fit the bill perfectly.</p> <p>Paired them with the white leather All Saints Tide Leather biker jacket (the twin to the blue one from last week's WIW that I bought&nbsp;together for a song on ebay).</p> <p>Kept the whole look pretty simple with the exception of the leopard cabbie hat and scarf and vintage 60's modernist silver jewelry.</p> <p>So, what do you think. Did I dance too far&nbsp;over the line into "back to the 80's" territory? Would love to hear others' thoughts on this. It's made of woven leather and looks like chain mail, plus it holds everything but the kitchen sink! </p>
