You guys are full of great ideas, and are a great help in this journey! One of the things you've solidified for me are that I'm really most comfortable with a more 'stompy' shoe [thanks Una!], presumably to offset the top-heavyness that often plagues my outfits...wait, I mean my body, lol. That's why the Sorel's have been so useful to me this Winter...not only are they kinda Mad Max-like, but they're brown (bookending) and tall (height inducing). I didn't try the v-neck sweater without the shirt because it's too similar to the Awry sweater in color palette. That sweater is a total dark horse, because as Elizabeth P noted, you totally cannot tell what it is until you try it on. The right sleeve looks as if it's on upside down, which causes the boxyness of the sweater to offset on the torso.
Anyway, I did try the shirt and added my platform, navy suede Tods booties to chunk it up a bit and add much needed height to offset the length of the shirt. I like this better, but of course Winter probably will have something to say about whether this gets out of the house. More layers please! I'm working on trying to hone in on a 'me' look with some of the pieces that I've bought/have that are more traditional by mixing in an unexpected piece or two.

Oh and Anna, I hear you. If I had followed fashion for as long and as closely as you do, I probably would be tired of AllSaints and Helmut Lang too! As a relative nube to both this forum and even remotely adventurous dressing, I'm just a few years behind, which I'm OK with really. Many/most of the people that I'm around at work think I'm on the cutting edge, which as we all know, is pretty humorous...just going to show you that it's all relative!

Great week! You have such amazing pieces, and put them together so well. Is that the Awry sweater in #3, that you posted the find for? The cool sleeve doesn't show up on thier site very well. Way cool.

I'm with Deborah and the others that immediately paused at #5 and thought "no, that's not her". It's a great outfit, just doesn't have the vibe I've come to expect from you.

Great outfits! Also liking #3. Agree with others that #5 might look better without the shirt. But the colour blocking is lovely. Can you show a bit of tail under the sweater? How does it play on its own with the joggers? What about opening up the collar?

Lots of great pieces here. 1 and 3 are my favorite outfits but I want that zipper necklace in 2. In 5 it's not the buttondown but the preppy V-neck that is throwing the outfit off for me. I think that the semituck helps. Love the wool joggers!

Another fan of #3 here! That look is awesome, and I was surprised to read that those super chic looking pants are Athleta. The pumps are fantastic with the outfit.
I'm really liking how you wear the skirted leggings, too. Another great outfit with them. The first skirt outfit is so fun and unusual and classic You.
The last outfit, I agree that the buttondown is kind of throwing me off. I do like the semi-tuck. And the shoes look gray and work nicely with the pants to my eye.

I think you did a great job of styling the skirt.

Love the zipper necklace and the ink out looks fresh and modern.

Love #3, I want!! Very nice shape and drape

#4 perfect and I love how versatile those leggings are.

A few outfits this week I felt were worth sharing, in case they stimulate ideas for anyone. Without further ado...

An attempt to un-orphan a piece that I used to wear quite a bit. It's essentially an A-line, unquilted puffer skirt made from tech fabric with a fleece-lined waste, which is quite high, especially in back. It's Prada circa 2007, and I wore it quite a bit back then when I dressed more for work. I haven't been feeling it, nor skirts in general this Winter, so I pulled out some fleece tights, my moto booties and wool/leather moto jacket. I like that the oatmeal wool of the topper lightens the look. The sweater is just a basic Harlowe & Graham from the Rack, but they drape really well, so I have 3 colors.

My attempt at an ink-out look. My favorite 7FAM jacquard jeggings in cobalt/black, with a navy tee and ink EF cardigan. Shooties are taupe suede platform Stuart Weitzmans from ages ago...so comfy for the height. The 'zipper' necklace is an Uno de 50 find that I loved for its irony.

Fave o the week. It's an AllSaints, boxy, asymmetric wool sweater in ink over my grey wool stretchy Athleta city joggers, old black patent Prada pumps and my Express grey python clutch.

Friday I wore the 8telier skirted leggings with a long sleeve black tee under an AllSaints oversized short-sleeved woven top that they call their 'ladder tee'. It is a brownish wine color that doesn't register well with my camera. Booties are Sorel Joan of Arctic that pick up the brown tone of the top and that make me feel giant!

OK, I didn't wear this one yet, but it features the same wool joggers as above, dressed more traditionally, so I wanted some feedback. I normally don't button shirts all the way up, but my thinking was that the deep vee of the sweater elongates to offset the effect. Thoughts? I semi-tucked the mixed media BR sweater, but probably would pull it out since I"m not loving the proportions. I brought out my powder blue suede kitten heels for bookending the shirt collar, but am also not 100% sure on those.

Thanks for your thoughts and for looking!
