Joy, Dianna, Bijou, thank you!

Brooklyn, that's a great point. The skirt will slide higher up on my waist if I put it there, no pinning needed... that might make the length more manageable. I'll give that a try, and it's staying in my closet now. :)

shevia, thank you! It's funny that you mention that; over my life, I've had a lot of comments on my posture (usually followed by asking if I'm a dancer or if I went to military school... I've been doing one form of dance or another since I was three, and my dad and grandfathers were military). I didn't realize it came through in pictures!

All lovely! I love the dressy looks of 2 and 3 - but #5 is killer, you look fantastic in this look. I love the jacket, I can see why it is a favourite.

I like all of these. I think the grey top offsets the ladylike vibe of the skirt in question and the outfit works beautifully. Your posture, as befits a dancer, is your best accessory (well along with your hair)!

Great outfits. I like 2, 4 and 5 the best. No 2 is really fab. Re the A-line skirt: I love it and would wear it in a heartbeat. Different footwear will make it tougher as Angie suggests. Personally I find an A-line skirt easier to wear when it's a little shorter than yours - just above the knee. You could try pinning it up to see if you like it better that way. But you must keep it.

Another vote for 2 and 3. The skirt in 4 is beautiful. Looking forward to see how you style it with Angie's suggestion.

My favorites are 2 and 3. I love how you but 2 together. It still looks feminine on you. I hope the shoes in 3 stretch out enough to be able to be comfortable for longer. They are fabulous.

The Cat, thank you! I've felt a little self-conscious in the vest and scarf combo because it's a bit out of the norm, but I do love the combination. I appreciate the vote of confidence, and I'll wear with more assurance now that it has your and Angie's seal of approval. I also love hats (especially fedoras) but haven't worked up the guts to actually wear them out and about; maybe that's the next step. ;)

delurked, you pinpointed it exactly! "Sweet" is a great word for this skirt (which is black, cranberry, light gray, and just slightly off-white), and you just helped me clarify why it wasn't gelling for me. I think you and Angie just moved it to the keep pile.

Angie, thank you! Toughening that skirt up with a moto and boots is exactly what it needs... I'd never even considered trying to balance it out.

Love Monday and Friday. It's a little tough to tell colors online, but my first thought on Thursday is to toughen up what you're wearing with a rather "sweet" skirt. Like the jacket and shoes from Friday with it (or I'd like with the boots from Tuesday, maybe even the vest from it too), I think would feel more you.

My favourites are the Tuesday and Wednesday looks. Love that waistcoat & scarf. You look GORGEOUS wearing these items, so don't hesitate about wearing them more often. I also like the blue skirt, which does certainly not look 12 years old. Perfect length. And the shoes are elegant and adorable.

Another week down!

1. Monday: This was a holiday, and these aren't in my capsule, but this was what I wore while teaching dance to a friend (I'm working on a teacher certification and needed 10 hours of practice teaching, and my friend volunteered to be my guinea pig).

2. Tuesday: I'm trying to wear all the unused items in my capsule, so this white button-down and waistcoat finally got a wear. I like a little bit of a playful menswear vibe, so I added a skinny scarf "tie."

3. Wednesday: This pencil skirt saw the light of day for the first time since purchase, ~12 years or so ago. I like --but don't love-- it, and it'll probably remain in my wardrobe as long as I have the matching jacket, since it's handy to have suit options on occasion. I also just bought these shoes, because I realized some of my things weren't getting worn because I didn't have shoes that worked well with them, so this pair filled an important hole. I don't care much about trends, but these happen to hit a few anyway (block heel, ankle tie, blushy/nude). They were comfortable enough until the afternoon, when they started rubbing the tops of my outer toes... hopefully they'll get better with some breaking in.

4. Thursday: Ugh, this skirt. I keep going back and forth on whether to keep it or not. It's not my preferred style (a little too unstructured, patterned, and... ladylike, maybe?... for my preference), and I have trouble finding tops for it (the white is a little off-white and looks dingy with white shirts). This gray shirt is the only top in my capsule that worked. But... every time I put it on, I love the swishy weight and movement. So... still undecided.

5. Friday: I probably wear this jacket too much, but I don't care. It's super versatile and I love it. I was regretting wearing heels on a Friday when a friend wanted to take a walk around lunch time, but it was too perfect a day to pass up, so I walked anyway and just dealt with slightly achy feet for a while.
