You might still be the same size but this particular pair was cut too big.

I've noticed at BR that some batches of a particular item (merino tops) will all be very small and then a couple of months later, the same size will be too big.

They might be cutting corners on quality control.

Great dress, but prefer hemming pants to longer lengths, like in nr4 or 5. Oh, and nr 1 is killer!:-)

Thanks, all! I *thought* it was the length that was off since it was a new silhouette for me, but now I see that it's actually just the fit in general. The dryer seems to have shrunk it a little, but I'll need to try them on again with a critical eye.

I usually avoid shopping in physical stores, but I think I should probably get myself down to the mall and have a serious trying-on session. While I can get away with black or grey skinny jeans at the office a lot of the time, I'd really like to have a pair of work slacks that actually fit well. All my current pairs have been worn pretty much to death's door.

I like the length of the pants but as Angie suggested, are they too big? I don't really see your shape in these, there's a bit of extra fabric.

I also like 1 and 8 the best. The top in 1 and scarf in 8 are great colours for you. And I agree with Angie about the pants.

I especially like #1. The pants do look a bit big as Angie said. Good look with the dryer.

What a great week! You look polished and sophisticated. Loved all your looks, my favorites are 7 and 8. The colors of the scarf go really well with your hair.

smittie, it's hard to see the asymmetrical part in the picture between the lighting and the angle, but there's a piece of fabric that drapes across the right front, then wraps around to attach to a point at the back. It's more dramatic from the back than the front.

Angie, aha! *That*'s what's been bothering me about the fit! I couldn't imagine that they'd be big since I've been wearing the same size in Express's Editors and Columnists for about 12 years, but I think the more recent ones have been less consistent in sizing. I'm afraid if I sized down it would probably be too tight in the waist, so... hm. I'm well past the return date, but maybe I'll toss them in the dryer and see if they'll shrink a bit. Thank you for pinpointing the issue!

#1 is your "uniform", which you wear well. A wider belt would make a bit more of a statement.

The pants look a little big. Did you try a size down?

I like the hem folded under 2x, so picture 5, but I am no expert.
I like the trousers look the best (with hemming) followed by asymmetrical top look (which looks symmetrical to me...maybe your phone is cutting off some of the asymmetry?).

Week 4 (at least since I started taking pictures) from my spring capsule wardrobe. I didn't make it into the office on Tuesday, so no pictures from that day. I wore a new-ish pair of pants on Wednesday that I can't figure out if I like or not, and I'd appreciate opinions on the length. Pictures 2/3 are the original length, and 4-6 are with the hem folded under 1, 2, or 3 times.

1. Monday: I love this drapey asymmetrical top. When I first got it, I couldn't quite figure out what to do with it (washing it helped... the drape part was a little too stiff before that), but it's growing into a favorite.

2. Wednesday: Geo print blouse again, with charcoal ankle-length pants that I keep going back and forth on. I have a black pair as well; I bought them to update my otherwise-mostly-bootcut collection of dress pants, but I just haven't warmed up to the cut so far. I'm not sure if it'll just take time and acclimation, or a hemming, or if it's just not my preference.

7. Thursday: One of my coworkers wore a black & white stripe dress on Wednesday, so I was a day late this week. We've previously worn our stripe dresses on the same day, completely without planning... that's apparently how in-sync our team is! (She joked on Wednesday that she'd almost texted me the night before to coordinate.)

8. Friday: I felt a little silly wearing a (not particularly spring-y) scarf on a 90 degree day, but office temperatures made it comfortable to wear inside.
