It’s been 14 years since I visited Maine, and it’s always a wonderful but slightly bittersweet memory, because mere days after I returned from that trip, my mom went into the hospital and died a few weeks later. I remember talking on the phone with her from Acadia. </p> <p>Yeah, these kinds of dresses are so great in the heat! I wore them years ago before I started taking photos of myself and realized how awful my knees looked, even when I was running and in good shape. But I said “f it” and decided to wear this anyway. At nearly 57, I’m increasingly invisible every year anyway, so who’s looking at my knees?
