Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I feel like I should clarify that the public speaking event I was thinking of wearing this to isn't just a simple presentation (you may take a look at the link provided for more information, but basically it's a mixture of a lively roleplay & talking to teachers directly at stalls/ booths). That's why a suit or usual businesswear feels like it might be too conservative for my needs. Still not sure, though!

Your new skirt is great! I think your legs look PLENTY long, even with flats. I think it's appropriate for a presentation, especially if you wear something simple on top.

Wow I SUPER love that skirt! The black top looks really nice on you, loving the outfit with the black top and floral skirt. I agree that it’s a weekend/date night look. That said, i might wear the skirt to present, but with a more conservative/authority-projecting top half, and wedges or heels.

I love a bold floral on a black background! Love the open neckline on you, too!

I think the floral would work for a presentation in certain environments -- I'm a musician, so a certain dramatic flair is welcome at, say, a music therapy conference! I might wear it with an elegant black sweater, or tailored black jacket!

Great Valentines outfit! I’d wear the skirt to the office - it seems work appropriate to me. I admit I wouldn’t wear it to present, but it’s my preference to be more severe for such things, lol.

Hey everyone,

You may remember the thread where I tried some off-the-shoulder tops that were slightly out of my comfort zone (are they 'bardot' style? Not sure I can even call them 'sweetheart' necklines when the necklines are so wide, lol?):
https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....bardot-top

I ended up wearing the black top for Valentine's Day & just wanted to share the look with you all (yes I know I'm REALLY behind on my posting, lol!) In my previous post, I wore it with a wide strapped bra that looked like it was part of the top. Here though, I left my shoulders bare.

I like the tucked in look for date night & the weekends (wore the striped top with some red shorts & felt very chic!), but the fact that I'm reluctant to wear it without the wide straps much makes me wonder if the 'demure bombshell' moniker really fits me or not. I was really drawn to this skirt, for example, & it's not really 'bombshell' at all:
https://m.zara.com/us/en/satin.....v1=5000547

I wanted to dip my toe in the midi trend by trying a length that was just slightly below the knee. I'm wearing it with black tights & wedges, but I'm still not sure if the skirt makes my legs look too short/ disproportionate. I've also added my dressing room try-on outfit so you can see what the skirt looks like with bare legs & flats instead. Thoughts?)

(PS - I'm also thinking about wearing this skirt to a public speaking event for work - would it be appropriate? Details in the thread below:
https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....aking-work )

Thank you for your help!
