I always try to push my jacket fronts back a bit for photos so that my top can be seen, who knew I was having trouble because I lacked the proper equipment! The silver buttons are now gone (cheap and plastic), replaced with nice black ones. If I were buying one today, I would choose a longer version, with a lower stance, or perhaps a slender shawl collar, ala "le smoking." Still --- sometimes working with what you had and going for it yields interesting results:</p> <p>1. Holiday Capsule: Ruffle Tux: This is inspired by the late 70's tuxes with ruffled shirts. To keep it from being too "church lady," even though I wore it to church, I mixed it with my animal print skirt and riding style boots. Can't stand those silver buttons!</p> <p>2. Holiday Capsule: After Prom: The same top half with bootcuts and ladylike gray low-heeled pumps. I added modern but blingy necklace. Go big or go home!</p> <p>3. Detail. This jacket has a fun, retro grosgrain trim. Just wish it were longer. It does close and button, but it seems shorter then. Also: I finally figured out why all my jacket open and swing back in all my photos. The girls. I keep forgetting about them, but they push the jacket fronts out of the way. Lord.</p> <p>4.. Holiday Capsule: Father of the Bride, or "Dad forgot his shirt." A simple v-neck with a gunmetal necklace and booties. Um. Not sure about this one. Anyone?</p> <p>5.. Newer jacket. Longer, lower stance, matte black, with the same t and necklace. This is VERY minimal for me, but I think I like it. Does it seem like I'm wearing a pinterest photo, or like a good change from my usual?</p> <p>P.S. I have some wide leg black trousers and ponte straigh legs. I haven't tried the full on "tuxedo" look yet. Maybe for new years....... </p>
