You should tuck more often! It's looks great (as do the other photos I just checked out). The reasoning about the boot cuts make perfect sense and will have to try that for an experiment with my IT/short waisted self. But, honestly you look like a very slim hourglass shape to me, perhaps this is the result of the tucking and boot cuts! Well done. Ps...you are too cute!

Hellooo Ms Blouse Twin! Don't you look amazing in this -- very sleek!

It's funny because I've been playing around with tucking it too and find the results so-so (I don't wear many blouses...). However, I checked out your other thread and don't know why you don't tuck more, woman!

While I see what you mean about wanting to dress your IT shape with an eye to balance, I really think keeping the neckline somewhat open helps with that a lot when wearing skinny jeans [other thread], and that plus the small bootcut create even more of an hourglass here.

[And BTW, since you've mentioned being concerned about your midsection, the animal print really keeps the eye moving.]

I like all your tucked in outfits Shiny, can't believ you didn't do before!!??!! but I can relate as I don't tuck often either...even got the green lights for it here on the YLF) It matters a lot what and how we feel when tucking- and as Angie said in previous thread, is all in our head...:-)

I second Suz. Still looking good, nothing to fret about here. Still prefer tucked with the first pair of pants in post #1, but they are all just grand looks for your adorable shape. Tuck with pride, sister!

Maybe another reason you like it better is because the silk is dressier than the denim shirt? I think both looks are very nice (I'm jealous) although I do see what you are saying about balance with the boot cut vs skinnys.

Una, I wanted to wear this top with the skinnies, but they were still damp and need one more run through the washer to avoid ink bleed. So I went with the bootcuts instead. I will try with the skinnies another day. I do get what you mean. I have worn this exact top with skinnies, but untucked.

Lookit, Lady. I saw your other thread and was not able to comment.

But here is the straight dirt. I want you to stop worrying about tucking from now until forever.

YOU LOOK FAB!!!

Seriously, you really, really do - in both sets of pics. I loved you tucked in skinnies and I love you tucked in bootcuts, too. (I also love that AT blouse...)

I actually prefer the skinnies, I think...but that may be coming out of my own ancient insecurities. As someone who used to be a pear and is now closer to an IT, I'm actually delighted that my bottom half is a tad narrower than the top and never worry about it if it looks that way. But I do understand you have a different history.

Also, the camera angle definitely does make a difference. And no, it is NOT cheating to get your hubs to take the photo from lower down. Not at all. People mostly see you full length at a distance and are not looking down at you in that circumstance.

Okay, accommodating for photo angle (and I would be looking AT you, not down!), I actually prefer the first look slightly. I didn't see a lot of IT emphasis in the first photos, and I think bootcuts are more stumpifying on me, so I'm biased although yours look good. This outfit is more traditional and classically figure-flattering though - it gives you more hips and hourglass shape. My eye does go straight to your midsection in the bootcuts.

I think my eyes have over-adjusted to skinnies, maybe?

Please compare and contrast to part I:
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....art-attack

- AT silk top
- AG slim boot cut jeans
- Me-Too wedge booties
- leopard belt
- (not shown) white pleather AT jacket

Worn to: lunch, errands, jeans shopping with DH (!)

My own critique:
1) I like it with this top better. Not only because I just adore this blouse, and its silky comfort, but I think the blouse is cut a tad slimmer, thus giving me a waist (up high, but a waist). I also think the collar spreads better to elongate the neck.
2) These jeans are just a tad lower -- 1/2 inch lower -- but not enough I think there's any difference.
3) I prefer tucking with the bootcuts. I think it balances me out better, less spindly leg effect? Or am I wrong?
4) FYI, these are the jeans the tailor was supposed to hem to flats length, but did not... they are way too long for most of my heels, but perfect for the new 3 inch booties. So I may just keep them as is and wear with these booties.
5) This belt works better than Part I version, because it fits. The other one will, once the cobbler is done with it.
6) I had DH lower the camera (he's 10 inches taller than me). The angle may make the difference? But maybe that's cheating, because since I'm so short, most people are looking down at me. Hmm.
