Thanks Katerina. Yes, I think my issues are more with the winter like weather and temps dragging on than with the actual clothing. I could be draped in silk and pearls and tired of them if I had been wearing them for 5 months.

Lovely outfits Mainelady, I like them all. No 1 is really beautiful on you - great colour palette, such an interesting cardigan and fabulous interesting necklace. Chic. I also love no 3 - the coral with the grey is really good. Wonder why you don’t love it? Is it the seasonal issue? It will be great with cream as well. I also really like the sweatshirt in no 4 - it suits you so well, both the colours and the pattern and shape. Casual perfection.

Mainelady, I need to credit Suz. She suggested 6 seasons rather than 4. I added cold spring and hot autumn for what are often endless winters and summers and have been happier with my wardrobe. The hardest part is not wearing those items during regular winter or summer so that they feel fresh when I need them.

I am most definitely feeling caught between two seasons, but you are all so kind with your comments. You make me feel better.

Bijou, efbgen and. Mirjana thank you. Jewelry is a bit easier for me to get right. Thank you for the comment on my colors.....this will be the first spring I have had light hair. As I pull out my spring clothes, I need to study the colors to see which ones still work with my hair.

Aquamarine #truth. LIving the Bean Life.

Thank you Jussie. When I looked at the picture I thought the column was too dark. I appreciate your comment.

Nancy W you are so right! Some days the sun is so warm we open the windows when we get home, but them after the sun sets I find myself snuggled in my favorite blanket. Just when I think I can take the down blanket off the bed the temps tell me I am wrong.

Thank you Angie. A killer vote makes me take a second look at the outfit. I do like the colors, especially with my lighter hair. I am not sure why the pants seem meh to me. Maybe I have worn them too often this winter.

LaPedestrienne, you are onto something! I will be trying the cardi with other pants....tomato red! Love that idea! I have worn the cardi with dark gray/brown, black and cream pants. I liked all of them. I tried a butter yellow pair of boyfriend jeans with the cardi, but didn’t like the overall look.
Oooo no, cold feet are not worth changing out shoes yet. I tried to wear a pair of Hunter boots to walk the dogs the other day and my feet quickly became cold from the ground up. I had wool socks on but they weren’t warm enough. Winter boots will be on my feet for a while longer.

Thanks JAileen! The striped top is a good weight and I like the pockets. We were wearing red for solidarity and this was the warmest red I had that wasn’t a flannel.

Thank you Rachylou and Smittie!

Thank you Cardiff Girl! The boots are LL Bean boots. They are famous in my part of the country. They are not as warm as my Sorels, but they are great for snow/mud season. Some Bean boot styles have a shearling or a plush lining. I will get a pair of those when it is time to replace these.

Torontogirl, come on down! You will see quite a bit of this style here. If you like these, I get the feeling you will really like some of the Maine summer styles. Mainers are widely known for being casual and down to earth, classic and relaxed, warm hearted and friendly. This is the Vacation State. The beauty and the people keep vacationers coming back year after year.

Joy, thank you! Your comments are so helpful. I found myself reading your suggestions and thinking of similar items I have in my closets. You have given me some inspiration.

I know how you feel and have come to depend on a few cold spring things that help. In the past Angie has had some suggestions like flower brooches or floral prints, a yellow scarf, hoodies worn with a blazer or light jacket, etc. All these suggestions have helped, a pale grey sweatshirt with white floral design with white jeans, warm sweaters in pale shades, a pink cashmere hoodie, a light yellow scarf. One year I bought an orange blazer that really helped with the winter wardrobe blahs. You have a longer cold spring than most and need to have some warm clothes that evoke spring. It can be done with brights or different neutrals from your winter ones. Navy is one of mine reserved for spring/summer. I have a short navy wool pea coat and blush Italian wool coat in heavy early spring rotation. Both are not quite warm enough for mid winter. I also use dark brown most in spring and like it with spring colors.

LOVE #1 and #2 -- can't even pick a fav between those two. You mention that the pants in #1 feel "meh" to you -- I wonder why? That comment of yours makes me want to see that amazing colorblock cardi combined with all sorts of different pants (black, tomato red, white denim, etc.).

This weather is so hard. I keep trying to wear my non-winter shoes and boots, and ending up with frozen feet (thin soles on damp, melty snow is a bad idea!). At least it's sunny; we need the Vitamin D.

March is such a flirt! The light says ‘spring’ the temperatures are ‘winter’ and most of us are sick of our clothes, our flannel sheets and our electric blankets- at least I am. These are all great and optimistic outfits and they all share a kind of balance. Color, silhouette, but especially your jewelry are all nicely in balance.

Mainelady- adore your outfits. Smart use of color to help transition into spring. You absolutely nailed the accessories (love love love boots- except those in #4 because I am sick of seeing those in my wardrobe- lol) you styled all the jewelry beautifully (I am a bracelet person so I particularly loved those in multiples). And being a vest person too- you inspire me to dig it out of closet to use this week. Thanks for the “suggestion “
Great job and hang in there- we have to start seeing signs soon -although those poor early robins did not know what to make of that nor’easter #4.

I find this time of year the most challenging. Weather and temperatures still dictate many choices. As much as I love my cozy winter pieces, I am getting tired of wearing them. I am trying to infuse a little spring which still looks a bit odd with all the snow we have outside.

I welcome any thoughts, observations and suggestions you may want to share.
1). Lighter colors and still warm enough. Oddly, my favorite equestrian pants look meh. Happiness factors cardi and necklace shown in photo 8.
2) Olive and black. I really like the pieces in this outfit, but this is likely the last wear for the season. Happiness factors are the vest and fringed boots.
3) Gray and coral....caught between seasons. I wanted to love this, but didn’t. Next wear I think I will go with a cream column of color. Happiness factors were the jewelry shown in pics 6-7.
4) Arts workshop day: a full day to try something new and explore our creative sides. Casual attire required. Under the sweatshirt I had short sleeved fitness gear and I had to pack my sneakers. I joined in 2 dance sessions, banner painting, flower arranging and gave a presentation. My casual was more dressed up than that of many others. Most wore fitness gear all day. Happiness factors were weekend wear for an entire work day and colorful jewelry shown in pic 7.
