I really love the way the second one goes a little bit bombshell with the nipped in waist, the lace peeking out of the V neck on the blazer, and the sharp shoulder line--while playing with the menswear vibe of the plaids. I think one of the best things about this jacket is you could go subtler and wear solids beneath OR go pattern for higher drama and still get good impact either way. I'm always drooling over those features. they take patterns that would be stars if they were in outfits with only one pattern, and they throw them all into one outfit that just looks so awesome. This one is bold and bright and happy and it makes me smile really big.</p> <p>The second one works to me because everything but the scarf seems rather subtle and subdued, and then that scarf is just a delightful POW (insert comic book graphic here LOL) against the soothing backdrop of the rest of the outfit.</p> <p>Well played, Aida ! My favourite is no 2. The colour mix really appeals to me. And I love the idea of winter shorts. So funky! Much better than summer shorts! I am always keeping an eye out for winter weight shorts (or shorter winter weight culottes) but never see them here (weird because we have the climate for it). The first pattern mix seems like a tonal progression of colours with each plaid picking up a colour in an adjoining piece. Almost ombré plaid! I love that idea and will try to use it sometime.
