I love the outfit with the sneakers but it depends on your work environment. The oxford outfit is maybe better if you are more comforatble wearing it.

I really like the first version with the sneaks for a casual outfit (plus look how happy you are in those photos ^^), though maybe more weekend than work. As others have said, totally depends on your work environment; unless the fabrications are quite dressy, then both the roll and the sneaker are instant casual. My work is creative casual, so I'd be fine wearing either version to work but I'd be more likely to wear a refined shoe on a work day and leave the sneakers to weekend unless the rest of the outfit was dressier (so in this case swap the tee for a silky blouse, or the pants for dressier trousers).

i love the 1st version with the sneakers! i know that it wouldn't work in my office as we have a no jeans no sneakers dress code, but if jeans or sneakers are ok, i would wear #1, esp after a tough week.

The only piece of your original outfit that gave me pause was the sneakers; then I saw your second version with oxfords and thought it looked fine for tutoring. You know your workplace culture; does the outfit with oxfords feel okay to you? I really like the sneakers version for casual, non- work wear.

This looks perfectly fine to me, especially in the oxford version. But then, I work in a lab. Many people wear jeans, t-shirts, and sneakers every day so your outfit would almost look dressy by comparison.

Yeah, it all depends on your workplace. I've worked in offices where jeans are dressy because they're not sweatpants, and offices where rolled pants would be a definite no-no, even on Fridays. I agree that the oxfords do dress them up a tad. This is actually part of my slight disgruntlement with the whole boyfriend jeans trend - a lot of people could wear skinny jeans (appropriately combined) to work, but how many people can wear baggy, distressed, and rolled up jeans to work?

Yeah, it totally depends on the office environment. For example, I could wear sweatpants and running shoes to my office and no one would blink an eye (but even as I would be physically comfortable in such an outfit, I would be mentally uncomfortable!).

I agree I wouldn't wear sneakers and cropped pants together for work. It's one or the other... But def a cute outfit!

What are the norms in your office? I work in tech, and this would actually be a reasonably dressy outfit, lol.

Can you try unrolling the pants one roll? I think if the pants were a hair longer, it would be great.

I also think that the oxfords make it feel more work appropriate, but I really struggle with sneakers in the office.

I love it and think it's totally appropriate for a casual day if your office really does do a truly casual day -- as opposed to biz casual (and it's very on-trend).

I do think the oxfords make it a bit less casual (but I prefer the chucks personally --but again, if your office's idea of casual is less than truly casual you're safer with the oxfords). Have you noticed how casual others dress on casual day? Is it on par with what you're considering?

The oxfords help and of coursecit all gets diwn to the specific dress codecor expectation both at office and for your own goals. I would just note that for me there are a lot of casual elements going on at once that conspire to make it look like an off- duty outfit-- the rolled pants are big, tennies big( meaning bigger casual statements); casual top, top longer than jacket. So I agree, for outfit tweaking it is kind of like jewelry and accessories-- you can go back and " remove" casualizing elements until you get the vibe you need.

As much as I would love to wear the comfy sneakers, I think a change of shoes will make me feel more comfortable at the office. All my heels are mary janes and I'm not convinced I like those with the cropped look, so I put on my Frye Carson oxfords and automatically feel a bit less casual.

I think it is perfect.

If I did have to change something, it would be the shoes - maybe a pair of heels (pumps or something), but that is entirely optional / upto your comfort level - If you don't like / wear heels.

You look really fab!

I'm building off my tutoring outfit from earlier this week:
http://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/wiw-tutoring

I got some great suggestions in that thread and I'm acting on them here. I'm trying to decide whether I dare wear this to work today. It is Friday, so more casual dressing is accepted but this is more casual than I normally go for work. But it has been a tough week, so I am tempted to leave the house in this.
