The hem is split on the seam. Its good detailing as it breaks up the bulk of black when walking. I was concerned that in hacking 4" off the bottom the proportions would be wrong, but it's still good I think.</p> <p>Thank you Joy. It is stunningly hot in London (for me at least, 30 degrees plus). </p> <p>Our clothing policy is formal for work. The culottes I bought some time back from Karen Millen are fab! Here they are in action today, with a Boden top. The culottes are great, because the fabric is soft and flows. I had them shortened, thanks to advice from the forum and Angie. Thank you! &nbsp;I wear pop sox. The clothing policy requires no bare legs. Amazingly, the culottes can be washed in the machine. </p> <p>The top, I questioned a few weeks back as to whether to keep. I am so pleased I did, thank you YLF for the encouragement. I love the fabric and the full cover of sleeves. I actually purchased the same top in another colour way too. The other colour way looks better to my eye, but I like the blues etc of this. I hope you like it too. All comments very welcome. Thank you for looking.&nbsp; </p>
