I won't wear them often, but I think I need one pair that can go outside the house (I have two horrible home pairs) I'll condiser tapering and shortening them as per Suz and Claire's suggestions.<br /><br />I don't really own any skirts that are fitted to that waist and that I can tuck the top into, so seeing as it is pilling I think I'll follow all the suggestions to cull.<br />After all, it has done 6 years service and I didn't reach for it once this summer, probably because I have other alternatives now in "the casual but very slightly dressed up top category".<br /><br />I may ditch the necklace. I think the shirt would look great tucked into an A-line skirt that sits at your waist. I don't like the necklace with it, but the necklace might be nice to keep as it works as a bookend with your sandals.&nbsp;You have beautifully toned runner's legs, so I'd show them off as much as your modesty will allow. I agree with AJ and Suz. Can you shorten the shorts to at least the top of your knee? And tucking your tops into these shorts will show off the buttons and re-arrange the proportions in your favor. And similar proportion concerns.&nbsp;<br /><br />I've discovered that the sweet spot for me with long shorts,&nbsp;if I plan to wear flat shoes,&nbsp;is just above the knee or <b>on</b> the knee, as it were (sort of like a straight pencil skirt). And I also find it makes a big difference if they are tapered towards the bottom. This pretty much means they have to have some stretch in them or they won't work.&nbsp;<br /><br />Your thighs look great in these. There is no issue with that. It's as AJ says -- all about the proportion. Another way to deal with this is to wear lower contrast tops.&nbsp;<br /><br />I agree with the others that these have great potential for next year, but you can safely purge the T. The shorts were hidden under a shirt of DH for possibly 2 years. I have never been that fond of them on me (my thighs and shorts are not a great combination) but today I thought they looked okay. In pic #3 I pulled the top up so you can see the detail at the top of the shorts)<br /><br />I wore a red cropped cardi over for shopping but the day proved too hot for it (in fact I was in a linen house dress as soon as I got home and took this pic - the outfit was a little too hot for the heat)<br /><br />The tshirt was a former staple in my wardrobe - the "dressed up T shirt" . It is showing its age though (nearly 6 years)<br /><br />The necklace is more boho than my usual style.<br />So keep or cull&nbsp; for&nbsp; shorts, tee and necklace?<br /><br />Thanks!<br />
