I’m wearing a sweater and a tee underneath, so it was comfortable enough for a little outdoor walking, especially with the scarf and some gloves, but not what I’d consider truly cold weather friendly. I was definitely pushing a light jacket into heavier duty than it suited, LOL. </p> <p>The exhibit is so worthwhile! The scale of some of these pieces makes them even more worth seeing in person. I’m glad she pulled it from the Smithsonian after learning that some of the content would be censored (a trans Lady Liberty is one of the works on display). She is the artist who did the official portrait of Michelle Obama in 2018, and I was excited to see all of this work in person. </p> <p>I debuted a new pair of pants from Me + Em, which I had ordered months ago, along with the burgundy side stripe pants I recently posted. These are quite wide legged black trousers with button detail down the bottom of the leg — I love a detail like this that elevates a classic pair of trousers.</p> <p>I wore it with a cropped burgundy Lilla P sweater, a very old burgundy cashmere scarf, and a pale blue cropped leather jacket my husband bought me recently. It’s by Stand Studio, a line I hadn’t heard of before, but I really love it and enjoy the color with these darker shades in winter. My trusty Adidas sneakers finished things off for a day of hours on my feet. I really enjoyed this outfit, but I might have another alteration on the pants to hem them just a little bit — the length is still a little long, even after the waist alteration helped them to sit at my waist better.</p> <p>The dark pieces in the pics were a little hard to see, so I lightened them a bit — the light is challenging for a photo! </p> <p>Bonus: some photos from the exhibition — I loved it! </p>
