It's been tough to know how to make those leatherette jeans work for me, but that tunic and the boots seem like a great start.</p> <p>Suz: I bought this tassel necklace at a little Boston boutique in early summer. The "chain" is made of seeds or some kind of natural item. It's really beautiful, and I have no idea who made it.</p> <p>Diana, Mochi, Lisa, other locals: Maybe we should do a meetup for one of the days of next year's festival? It's usually the last weekend in September but this year was early. I will post about it! </p> <p>Glad to see no one thought the braid was crazy. THe co-founders of the Colorado Telluride film festival, Bill Pence and his wife, live here now, and every year they bring a selection of the Colorado films to us. It's pretty amazing. For the past five or six years, Michael and I have gone. We usually see 4 films in the weekend (not all) and I always use the festival as a chance to wear fun outfits. This year, Michael is away so I am on my own and only made it to 3 films - 2 foreign and 1 big American premiere. As an introvert this would ordinarily be hell, but the really wonderful thing about this fest is how friendly everyone is and how easy it is to talk to strangers about what they have seen and what they have liked / not liked. </p> <p>Sat morning: French film, "things to Come" with Isabelle Huppert<br /> A little too French, in that not enough plot for me. It's about a philosophy professor in midlife who goes through several crises that have her questioning her choices; although Huppert was magnetic on screen, I kept wanting her to do more, be more, or become more. But it was great to see her classic French style, which included several pairs of long straight jeans worn with wedge sandals. BTW, she reminded me a bit of Carter.</p> <p>I wore a French inspired outfit: braided hair (possibly twee), floaty navy top, tassel necklace, dark Jodi crops, and Freebirds.</p> <p>Saturday evening: The Arrival, with Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner<br /> I loved this film! Amy Adams plays a linguist and Renner a physicist who are brought in by the government to try to communicate with aliens who have recently arrived. Much much deeper and more complex than this sounds. beautifully filmed, Adams is terrific, wonderful twists, very moody and atmospheric. </p> <p>It was a cool evening. I wore burgundy AG leatherette skinnies and a sleeveless tunic from Aritizia, with a jean jacket and the boots from NAS.</p> <p>Sunday morning: Romanian film, Graduation, about a father's efforts to regain control after a violent act disrupts his family and his plans for his teenage daughter to go to college in the UK and avoid his fate. Slow at times but ultimately very good. (Like Things to Come, this film features a scene where a teenager confronts a cheating father and forces him to tell the mother he is being unfaithful, a similarity I found a bit sad, I have to say.)</p> <p>Hot and muggy today, post-rain. I wore all JCrew: cropped baby bootcuts, pointy ballet flats, and lace blouse.</p> <p>Hope you enjoyed. All comments welcome. </p>
