Love this...what a pretty biker you are! Yep, crazy hot today....supposed to be 68 by Sat. That is how it goes in the midwest fall. Have to check the weather everyday to know how to send kids to school. As the others have said lots of layering!

Love it! We're dealing with heat here too these days. You gotta have layers to shed as the day warms up

Yup, that is the nature of it. You begin in one place in the morning and end up entirely different by the afternoon. It's really tough to dress for. This is one reason so many of us on the forum complain the most about the shoulder seasons. It's not in our imaginations. It's just hard to look fashionable when you could face such a range of temps (or conditions) in a single day.

Love your outfit!

I hear you on the temps -- it was 8C when I left this morning for work, and feels like 41C right now with the humidex.

A killer from Angie! What an unexpected pleasure!

Suz, I will absolutely keep that in mind as I build my wardrobe. I think the cool temps in the morning followed by heat in the afternoon are throwing me off just as much as the variations from day to day you've mentioned. At home, it's definitely hot in early September, but at least it's consistently hot! This outfit was layered but certainly looked incomplete once I started shedding.

Thanks, Kelly!

Vickie, I love this cardigan, too. I sometimes struggle with the shape but can't part with it because of the great colors.

Super cute, Becky!!

And welcome to the world of Great Lakes transitional temperatures!! Fall and spring are really ...um..."interesting" seasons in our climate. You can have 30 degrees one day, and 15 the next. It is a really tricky time to dress for. My solution so far has been to always buy a few items in summer weights but "fall like" colours, always to wear layers, and always carry a bag big enough for my some layers to go into.

I do the reverse in spring. I need a couple of items that are winter weight but "spring like" in the colour. Not a whole wardrobe, mind you. Just a few pieces that give me that sense of change without making me physically too hot or too cold.

When I cycled to class, this felt perfect. Husband met me on campus and kept the bike. Pushing the stroller to my daughter's swim lesson, at the so-humid and un-airconditioned pool building, and then home in the glaring sun and much greater heat, I had to shed the belt and cardigan. Still I roasted. What's with this heat? :)

Forever 21 grey tunic
J. Crew painted cardigan
Black cigarette jeans via Urban Outfitters
Jeffrey Campbell oxfords (blisters!! Ouch.)
Belt from Anthropologie

Apologies for the blurry photo! All comments and suggestions welcome and appreciated.
