Some of the ladies were in long gowns, and I would have enjoyed wearing one, but there was no time to find something like that! My only gown is 1) very dramatic and red and with a train so overkill for this kind of event, and 2) a size too small now. LOL</p> <p>I also considered and tried on a pair of very lovely and classic black trousers I have (which need some alteration, as they are roomy in the waist and about a half an inch too long) with a black Helmut Lang mesh mixed media tank and the white cape pictured here. I liked it and felt good in it but my husband preferred the jumpsuit. Even though my preferred metal is silver, I just decided to go with the mix and wear the gold-studded shoes. I’d be tempted to track down a pair of these in black to keep for my occasion capsule when nude/gold just won’t work. I have such an awful time finding dressy shoes that work. But they’re expensive! I’ve had these for ten years and will likely never let them go. </p>
