I'm afraid it might be coming up in my future too, but as MOG. The MOB wore three separate pieces, all floaty, and she piled on the necklaces. Her outfit had a slight boho vibe. I've known her for 20 years and don't remember seeing her wear a skirt or dress before. She looked wonderful, especially her hair which was gorgeous.</p> <p>The bride could have been on the cover of a bridal magazine. I suspect I will be one in the coming year. Kudos also to the bride who wore a dress with straps. I think that most brides these days just think they need to wear strapless, and hardly any of them really look their best. A week or so ago it was over 100 around here.</p> <p>I have a nearly identical dress in black and white. I would have worn it but didn't have a hat that went with it. I need to get another hat. And then I ended up not wearing the hat!</p> <p>The bride was lovely. She was wearing a very rare wedding dress - it had shoulder straps. I wish I had taken a picture of the bridesmaids in their cowboy boots. Lots of young women wore cowboy boots, but several women my age did too. Half of the guests were actually from the very rural part of my state, where they wear cowboy boots every dsy.</p> <p>I went to the wedding for my friend, MOB. She looked wonderful too. Her hair is usually big and wild, but it was so beautiful with big soft curls. I think it was just under 90. I was concerned about being in the sun and wind and took a non gear hat. This dress is the only one I have that went with the hat, and I wore cognac/brown accessories. The ground we were on was grass and DG - decomposed granite - and so the sandals were fine. What women were wearing ran the gamut from sun dresses to jeans so I felt appropriate. The bridesmaids all wore cowboy boots with their dresses! The groomsmen wore cowboy boots too, with jeans and leather vests. They must have been dying in those. I also saw a lot of string ties. The groom grew up on a ranch, and both the bride and groom have horses. The ceremony was beautiful.</p> <p>For the reception we were only partly in the shade, and I loaned my hat to someone else. I had a beer and set the bottle on the table. When I picked it up a moment later, the beer was still cold, but the bottle was hot to the touch from the sun. </p> <p>Dress - Talbots<br /> Sandals - Bernardo<br /> Bag - Coach - thrifted<br /> Hat - thrifted </p>
