It is leather and it is a really good knockoff because the Cs are correct, the chain is properly braided, the hardware says what it's supposed to, the "made in Italy" stamp is there and in the right place, etc. The only flaw I see is the stitch count per inch. Who knew? It was a fun learning experience. I was idling through the accessories, thinking about how I never find any scores there, when a quilted bag caught my eye. It's a CHANEL. I looked up the number inside and everything. It was $6. In great shape. Okay, it's soul sucking beige, but it's an accessory.</p> <p>Therapy achieved! </p>
