I love the fit of this one, but I also know it probably won't last beyond the season. You can already see the wear.</p> <p><b>alaskagirl</b>, yay for being cleared to hike! I feel your pain on that. I had a bout with sciatica this spring and I was really worried I wouldn't be able to do any hiking at all this season. Thankfully, it passed, because it felt like my summer would be completely lost! Hiking/camping IS summer to me.</p> <p><b>Brooklyn</b>, "earthy urban" definitely works for your style too! I think Colorado and parts of Australia actually have quite a bit in common in terms of lifestyle and fashion.</p> <p><b>Maneera</b>, you know, I think the pants thing might have to do with humidity. When it's in the 90s and 100s here (and even the 80s), we're only at 20-30% humidity. Clothing just doesn't stick to you the same way it does in more humid locales. Also hotter. My house is un-air-conditioned except for a room unit in the living room, which juuuuust manages to keep things bearable on a 99° day like yesterday. </p> <p>#1 is what I wore for the near record-setting warmth yesterday. Hair in a messy topknot to beat the heat, lightweight joggers, cross-front tank, favorite summer sandals. I'm also really liking the earthy note this multi-strand leather bracelet adds.</p> <p>#2 was for a hiking day up at Rocky Mountain National Park. I like to wear brighter-colored gear when hiking, so my companions can find me more easily, long-sleeved Athleta tunic to combat the UV intensity at higher altitudes, cropped joggers because it was hot, and my Buff scarf as a neckerchief at first and, later, as a headband. I did wear shoes, btw, but I love these quirky bear socks.</p> <p>#3 is an easy and casual outfit for a day of random errands, housework, and order fulfillment. Cropped boyfriend jeans, crochet-top tank (sorry, details aren't visible, but you can see them in the Find), ballet flats, and simple jewelry.</p> <p>#4 is a bonus pic from our hike. That's my husband and son at a cascade in RMNP's alluvial fan area. The odd, boulder-strewn, sandy beach next to a mountain stream is the result of a flood in the 80s. We're incredibly lucky to live only about an hour and change from this park! </p> <p>Aida used the term "earthy urban" to describe my summer style recently, and I think all these outfits (but especially 1 and 3) qualify.</p>
