Thank you Angie! And please do not worry about missing the thread, I only posted a million of them yesterday:)

Glad to hear the grinning is not a big issue, and will wear flat sandals with those shorts next time. Hmm, I will try and see if I can make that partial side front tuck work.

Oh heavens. I almost missed this thread. Sorry, Tanya.

I like #1 as it. Forget about the grinning. You look killer fab.

#3 is very fashion forward actually. But partially tuck the side front if you want a little more structure.

#6, I vote flat sandals with the shorts.

I love it all, especially #4, #5 and #8. xo

He he Ummlila, what a great catch :) I should get that magazine issue and see what else is in there.
Agree on the layering thing, but I don't think I will be looking for the narrow and drapey blouse. I guess I will try to make the look work with what I already have.

I was taking another flip through this month's In Style and see that there are two pages that reminded me immediately of this outfit set. Took a couple of screen shots ... Were you submitting ideas to them, Tanya?

Unfortunately it seems that the way for the blouse under a crop to work best is when it is not really a blouse but a piece sewed on under the sweater. Or I guess if your blouse is simultaneously narrow and drapy.

Thank you all very much for all the advice, much appreciated.
Firecracker, Louise and Meredith, what a perfect idea to try darker cami in #1! It seems so obvious now that you have mentioned it, but it did not cross my mind.
I am very glad to see that overall the taupe sandals and denim shorts seem to be working together.
Now, about #3, I did try semi tucking, but it just didn't work with this berry top. Maybe it is the shape, or it is too long, but it looked awkward and bunched so I just left it untucked. I can certainly try it without the busy scarf though. I do have to have some kind of scarf to cover my neck, but I can go for something smaller and more neutral.

Tanya, love your outfits.
I have no advice on #1, that would annoy me too. Maybe Firacracker is onto something.
#3 either with a semituck or I would go full volume on volume with some flowy, flared pants. You do have the constitution for it, imo.
#6 look great on you but maybe you would feel more comfortable with flats or with a flowy top(what about the one in #3 tucked in?)

I like the fuchsia top a lot on you. I wouldn't usually do volume over volume either but it seems to work well in this instance. I'm also a big fan of the blush vest and tube skirt look. You are doing well with the plaids, too. I have always avoided them as I think of them as too boxy and LLBean-ish, but when I see them working so well well for you and others, I'm tempted.

Beautiful as always. I agree with the others about trying a darker cami for 1. I think the volume on 3 is fine, although I'd be interested to see it with a memi tuck or without the scarf. Something about the look seems stretched out (might just be the mirror). You can completely pull off the heeled sandals with the shorts and I think the definitely take the casual look up a notch.

Great looks. To avoid 'grinning' in #1 I'd wear a darker cami, though I do understand that you'd lose some of the 'whiteness' of the top x

Tanya, I do have an idea for the grinning in #1. I thought the top was double-layered. But maybe I was wrong. If it's not, try wearing a cami that is a medium tone like the pants you are wearing--doesn't have to match.

These are terrific outfits. I really admire your style. No ideas for the grinning in #1--I'd say just embrace it. The top is really cool looking.

Love #2 with the colorful bag.

I'm fine with #3 and find it JFE. I might actually prefer it without the scarf. Your shoulders support that style very well, no worries.

Ooh, I spot another cool pair of metallic oxfords in #4. Maybe a little shinier than I'm looking for, or I might try to come relieve you of them when you're not looking. I love this whole outfit--the rugged plaid shirt and boyfriends with shiny belt and shoes. Ahhh!

You rock that skirt in 5 and the boyfriend shorts in 6. I like the shorts the way you've styled them. You have the legs for this look, so go for it. The heels you've chosen work well to my eye because of their chunky, casual style.

7 and 8 are gorgeous dressy looks with different characters.

What a beautiful week you had!

I just love looking at your outfits Tanya. You are a master at bookending. Pulled together but never veering into matchy land.

I think the pockets on the legs of the pants in #3 make it seem a bit off, rather than the volume of the pants themselves.

You can most definitely wear those shorts, they look great on you. And I like the shoe choice.

No suggestions for the grinning in 1. Beautiful top though.

Here are my outfits from this week. It is still pretty hot, so they are fairly summery. The first four outfits are work outfits from Tuesday through Friday. #5 is running errands of Friday evening, #6 and #7 are Saturday and Sunday outfits, and #8 was worn on Saturday evening for a ballroom dancing social.

I have a couple of questions about some of them:
#1: The "grinnning" effect of the white knit tunic is annoying, but I can not think of a way to avoid it other than only wearing it with white pants or layered over a long white shirt. The tunic is normal length in the back and long in the front. Any ideas or should I just embrace it?
#3: Is this volume over volume look JFE or too much volume? I know that it would look conventionally more flattering with skinny pants or semi tucked tunic, but the tunic was too long for that and the day too hot for anything tight. I liked the feel of loose silk layers. I hope that exposed ankle skin provides some structure. Also, it is too late for this top, but would like to keep it mind for the future; are my shoulders wide enough to pull off such voluminous top with dropped shoulder line in general?
#6: These BF shorts are the shortest shorts I have ever had and I am still learning to feel comfortable in them. Do they work with these heeled sandals or is it a bit much? The heels are lower and chunky, and I matched them to the top, but wondering if I should stick to flatter ones in the future with shorts this short? Or is it fine since the shirt and shorts are both fairly loose.

All the other comments and suggestions are welcome as well.

Also, I snapped this tank in #5 on Labor Day clearance, and it is a perfect match for this tube skirt that is a little difficult to pair with tops. It has grey jersey front and pale blush chiffon back. I know that some fabbers have the same skirt so if you are still looking for tops for it I would strongly recommend this one.
