I feel a bit self conscious in them because they are rather flimsy in fabric. Too bad because these are incredibly comfortable. I think it works well and is not too dramatic.</p> <p>I also really like your scarf and how you’ve tied it. I do think the outfit needs a little something, and the scarf really does give some interest. It is a subdued colour, so not too terribly “out there”.</p> <p>I rather like your leggings and feel they’re on par with your jeans, but perhaps it is the stretchy feel of them that makes you think they’re too casual?</p> <p>I do not listen to coworkers or sales agents about what they like. I find people are far too conservative, or else they will only compliment something very bright and eye catching. The leggings look fine to my eye.<br /> If you feel outfit 1/2 is a bit severe you could try pairing it with a printed pant and a coloured shoe? Or a pair of statement earrings if you wear them.<br /> I think the long print top ever the slim pants is nice too. I hope I can keep finding time to do this because I always learn a lot from it. Apologies for the bad pictures though – I have no full length mirror and had to improvise with the selfie camera :-/.</p> <p>1, 2 and 3: needed a cardi in the morning, then took it off for most of the day. This cardigan can be worn open (see 4) or closed. In picture 2 (photobomb by dh and baby) you can see the beautiful drape when wearing it closed – though the resulting silhouette may be too severe…?? I also didn’t very much like the top with the pleated trousers. The whole thing felt too conservative, a vibe exacerbated by the round toe slip ons.</p> <p>4 and 5: tried to pair the same top and topper with a jegging – somewhat happier, though the jegging in itself feels outdated and not professional enough and I want to retire it to weekend wear.</p> <p>6 and 7: probably fine but uninspired long over lean – a silhouette that I want to move away from.</p> <p>8 and 9: I felt happiest in this simple outfit consisting of a new pair of high waist, straight jeans and an older top with a bit of a batwing. At the last minute I grabbed a silk scarf to spice it up a bit – I liked the look, but am unsure if anyone else did. Side question: do you count on compliments from your coworkers (or anyone else) to validate your outfit decisions?</p>
