Unfrumped and Carter, it is so easy to keep buying and then find you have substitutes instead of variety.  The inspiration has forced me to wear a lot of pieces I had not been reaching for lately.   Suz, I just ordered the top a week ago and it is a new arrival so they should have them at Zara.  I got a medium and have plenty of room.   Angie, thank you for the killer for #5.  I felt really good in the outfit and loved the top from the minute I put it on.  I don't think the jacket in #4 is long but the skirt has such a high waist and I have such a short waist that it looks that way.  I have quite a few skirts that I like much better so will wear the outfit again but perhaps with the VC animal print tube.   Angie on "WIW this week" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/wiw-this-week-39#post-1543672 Sat, 22 Aug 2015 14:36:13 +0000 Angie 1543672@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ It was a great week. All pants outfits are fabulous - #1, 2 and 5 are my faves. #5 is killer.   I find the jacket in #4 a little long, which is accentuated by your high waisted pencil skirt and tucked top. Are you short waisted, Cheryle? There is something about #1 that shows potential (the mustard yellow and cobalt are great colours on you) I don't love the grey jacket though. #4 is not something I'm used to seeing on you - interesting and nice colours. Sometimes it IS work to get dressed! I reserve some Sunday night PM time to put together a capsule and a week's worth of looks. Then I throw in a few extra items for good measure. I Don't have a Lot of AM time, so narrowing down my choices - while still having choices, works best for me. This is your look. Borrowing quotes, I want to  look like that  when I grow up. Oh drat, I'm already more grown up than you. Still love peplum power. Not as much a fan of the full skirt. It's cute, but I think it is too short so it chops you up. Would like to see longer and softer drape. That is my narrow style filter channeling you into the more elegant looks, and also my short skirt-inspector/detector, so you can take that with a grain of salt. #3 is a nice casual look, simple, good summer neutrals. Also, thanks for closet-clearing inspiration. I've been amazed at how much more I should SYC --the pieces are there, I'm just not cycling through them, and need to remember the ones I love and figure out the ones that should go. cheryle (Dianthus) on "WIW this week" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/wiw-this-week-39#post-1543363 Fri, 21 Aug 2015 21:47:03 +0000 cheryle (Dianthus) 1543363@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ I got behind on posting so thought I would just do one post for the week.   I think I am getting the knack of doing inspiration outfits.  In the past, I would try to recreate the outfit almost exactly.  Now I lay out pieces that are similar from what I have.  I try on the outfit and then almost almost swap out at least one for a different item.  I am finding this to be a good opportunity to test wear a few of my older items before the big closet purge.  It seems to work but takes MUCH more time.  I was getting up between 5 and 5:30 instead of 4:00 and had trouble getting to work on time a few days.   Pic #1  I had intended to wear the second pair of lighter olive pants (gap) that I found in the closet with the white lacy sweater but it didn't look right no matter what I did.  I gave up and wore the yellow pants with cobalt and grey.  I realized these pants have to be reserved for Mexico.  They were so loose that I probably looked like I had a diaper on. Pic#2 I posted this one already.  It was an older peplum that was snug last year but now fits.  I put it with the halogen seamed skirt from a few years ago and the black SE sandals.  I thought it looked pretty good but I don't see myself from the back so ignorance is bliss.  :) Pic #3.  I tried the white lacy sweater with the JCrew olive pants and like it better.  The GAP pair has cargo pockets and are mixed media with a panel down the inside of each leg that is a heavy knit.  I think they had too much going on.  I was okay with this one but not in love with it.  I thought I would love it but guess Carla set the bar too high.  :) Pic#4  I have had this skirt for a while.  It is another one with a really wide waistband.  I draped the top to fix the proportions but then it looked a bit off.  I didn't notice until I was at work.  The skirt draped well in front but the pics looked weird.  I do like the denim jacket over the purple top so will put the top with a different bottom another time. Pic#5 The Vivian top from Zara.  I love this top and am so happy that Viva posted it.  I tried it with four skirts before I went with this one.  I usually have trouble with high neck tops but this one drapes so nicely and the fold detail is architectural and pretty at the same time.  I half tucked to get an angled hem and added my watch with the chain strap and the black sandals to toughen up the pretty a bit.  I tried a jacket or two but decided to forego the third piece. Thoughts or suggestions?  I can take criticism and know this wasn't a stellar week.
