Celia, these outfits look great on you. I love the tailored looks, and you wear a skirt so well.
I was looking back at previous posts to see if I could find some of your summer work outfits, and the few I clicked on, the photos are no longer available. But I recall your style as being feminine, classic, tailored, and perhaps a little more colorful in warmer weather. You wear ballet flats in summer, right? So I think you are onto something that the heaviness of winter clothing works against you, if you love the lighter, feminine feel of your summer wardrobe.
Boots are a necessity in winter, and as you say, they are a big investment. So you may not want to get them yet (or on the other hand, maybe you could find some on sale pretty soon!), but I think a more close-fitting, refined boot would introduce some sleek feminine feel into your winter style. Meanwhile, a more immediate or easier idea would be to try a scarf sometimes instead of a turtleneck for keeping the neck warm. It's a lighter, more feminine look and a way to introduce some accent colors or prints.

I especially like #2 also, but think the angle of the photo is not doing your outfits justice. The blue jacket is terrific!

Such great points. Probably I should have asked in the beginning of the season....
I have noticed that whenever an outfit is too masculine I do not feel happy in it. And in winter I hit the jackpot of masculine:

heavy fabrics like wool, tweed

colors like black, burgundy, grey,

blazers and pants without much of feminine details

rarely any prints

Adding to this the several shades of grey my face turns in winter and I can see how the result isn't very me, or at least happy me.
I have to say that I keep a set of lighter color( but same weight ) sweaters for this time of the year, Angie suggested it once and I feel that it makes enormous sense.
I will try to take a pic of my outfit today because, althought the outfit is very close to the #1 the slight detail on the shoulder of the jacket is making me happy.

Hi Celia, glad you bumped this! I also like especially outfit #2. Haven't seen your other outfits yet, but wondering if some color might perk you up? I'm not much of a color person myself, but I always keep something bright pink in my closet, which I pull out when I am feeling the winter blahs. A more typically feminine color might also help with that piece. Good luck! Hang in there, spring is coming, even though it doesn't feel that way!

I really like #2, especially, Celia.

The main difference I notice right away from the summer pics is the absence of patterns here. I am wondering if bringing some pattern to the winter looks would help you feel more fab?

Hah Celia-it's just the frightening cold out there!:-(sorry for feeling that way about your winter wardrobe-I do feel the same time at some moments each end of winter. I went back to see your thread from last week, with some of your spring/summer looks, and it struck me, that it has more and sharper contrast in regarding the colors+ some great prints. So, not all dark, and pattern-less-you just have to look around. When feeling bored like that, I started introducing a bit of white-but not as a single piece like a plain white button down(which no matter how hard will try my body and soul wouldn't make working fo me at all:-(). But in some patterns, like a black and white plaid/stripe/bouclé texture. And suddenly all is more convenable to mix with lighter hues.

I cannot comment on comparing to your summer work wardrobe without a comparison photo. But I like the layering you've done here. Do you layer in the summer as well? If not, then that's the obvious difference for me. I tend to layer year round myself, but I'm on team always cold and often in a/c settings so that works well for me.

As I was telling on my budget post an outfit for yoga was a necessity( the current options are old sweater pants and tops, not very appropriate ), and this past days I went to winners to look for some.
Ended up buying a top and leggings for $60 which seemed fair enough, but also gave me the opportunity to take pictures of my outfits.
This boots have been worned a thousand million times but I really don't want to spend $200 plus on another pair right now.
I am sorry that the pictures are not very good for judging but I do have a question
Does this have a very different vibe from my summer work wardrobe?
(My office is cold in winter so I have to dress in layers. Sometimes the feel of all the wool weighs me down because I don't feel particularly feminine in it. )

Also, if you have any other thoughts or suggestions please go ahead. I don't feel that my winter work wardrobe was a total win.
Thank you for looking.
