I still think you look great! I second the suggestion to try wearing a necklace or a scarf with the ends hanging down, to give the eye a vertical element to grab on to so the widening of the shoulders is minimized.

I'll add my voice to the chorus telling you how great cobalt looks on you.

The white layering blouse calls attention toward your neck and away from your shoulders. It sounds like you feel better wearing the sweater styled in this way.

I'd like to see it with your black ankle crops sometime.

First, I have to tell you that I think you've done a phenomenal job with this sweater. I have disproportionately broad shoulders and a full (enough) chest, so I know exactly what you mean about this shape. The dolman sleeves, the slash neck, they are hard on us ITs! However, you look lovely in this combo. The shirt does break it up and add a strong line to it. Very pretty!

What about adding a long necklace to it too? Something like a tassel that has weight to the bottom of it?

I also know why the tapered slim pants can be a challenge. They may look great, but it isn't guaranteed! Does the sweater sit up high enough that it can sit above your hip line? Since I don't have a strong, curvy hip, if I don't get the sweater above the broadest part of my hip, this shape doesn't work for me.

The two tops look cool together. The shape is interesting and the blue colour is really lovely on you. I think the wide-legged pants look great, too. Have you tried a necklace or scarf? A vertical element on top might lend a bit of definition to your dolman sweater.

First of all, the cobalt color is beautiful on you. I do not think this gives you a "massive shoulder"... strong shoulder line, yes, but I very much like that look. Agreeing with Amy that this is an overall "volume on volume" look, but you carry it well. I like the pop of crisp white peeking out from under the sweater. I think you look very chic.

The sweater puts me in the mind of the round-shouldered sweaters Angie posted from the fashion week shows. I like it!

I like the outfit a lot, Von. It may not be the most slimming combination for photos, but volume on volume looks like this tend to look a lot better in real life where you're moving about and the drape and movement of the fabric. can be appreciated. I think it's elegant!

I could really use a sweater like that...I have narrow shoulders so am always looking for a way to make them seem broader. I'm making a mental note to look out for something cut like yours.

I like the tops together too, but I think you're right...volume on top really calls for slim on the bottom. Looks cute though!

When I bought this sweater, I thought it was great, but as time goes on, I'm starting to wear it less and less. I think it's the odd neckline combined with the fitted waist. It makes me feel like I have massive shoulders.

Today I tried to balance it out by wearing a top underneath and rolling up the sleeves and adding some wide leg pants. I like the two tops together, and in the future, would venture to try this combo with my black ankle crops instead.
