Somehow I grew up thinking that weddings were not formal evening-wear for guests, even, evening weddings! <br />So I have always been amazed when people show long sparkly gowns, and strapless and&nbsp;even short dresses&nbsp;I associate with&nbsp; Prom or club night or something. Lots of dresses for weddings that I have always thought of as too "showy". <br />I <u>do</u> hanker for a very dressy, elegant look and it remains&nbsp;a&nbsp;HEWI-capsule to keep the right things on hand. It's also hard&nbsp;because of seasons and such, both for colors and for warmth and type of fabric, and you never know what will be when. I may have been slightly under-dressed...I found out too late that is was listed as <i>almost&nbsp;</i>black tie. As in tuxes were <i>suggested,&nbsp;</i>just not required. So I could have gone more dressy than this, but hey, I wasn't the star of the show obviously, and I wasn't even an "important" guest. I wasn't someone whose outfit would be noticed and discussed at all, and to try to be uber-special might have felt like trying to claim attention I wasn't owed at this occasion. I was decently appropriate, that's all.&nbsp;</p> <p>So, one wedding down, one to go. It will be too cold for this by then, so I hope I can find something fantastic now! I felt pretty good in it, although it turned out I could have gone more formal. There were a lot of 20 somethings in long dresses but most women my age were in short...interesting split I thought. There were a lot of those lace dresses but overall I was decently appropriate enough to blend in with the crowd. (wow, that sounds ab fab, doesn't it? Sometimes that is just good enough!)</p>
