I'm not sure of the comfort factor yet, I've always worn a chunky heel,&nbsp;but I'm seeking out comfy versions of flats to experiment with. I found a nice pair at Clarks that I'm excited to wear. Maybe try flats made by Clarks or Born, etc. I also found a nice pair of black ballet flats with a concealed wedge at J.Crew, so not truly a flat flat. Great photo of you and DS https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/wiw-the-day-my-oldest-son-decided-where-to-go-to-college#post-907983 Mon, 15 Apr 2013 00:57:19 +0000 Laurie 907983@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ We just returned from a life-changing, epic event -- the deciding visit to the school where my oldest will attend college. &nbsp;This marks the end of a 2 year process, and a&nbsp;3,000 mile journey&nbsp;since this time last year.<br /><br />I wore :<br />&nbsp;<br />Dress &amp; leggings&nbsp;: H&amp;M<br />Belt : Chicos<br />Thin cotton&nbsp;jacket : um...Lands End<br />Ballet Flats : Banana Republic&nbsp;<br />New bag : Banana&nbsp;Republic satchel &nbsp;(love this bag! &nbsp;I got it last week, and enjoyed seeing Mary's WIW the same day it arrived)<br /><br />This is my first pair of flats ever. &nbsp;I got them for our trip to Argentina and&nbsp;I hate wearing them. &nbsp; Am I alone in thinking they are terribly uncomfortable? &nbsp; I didn't think I liked the way they looked, either, but I do actually like them in this picture. &nbsp;I see more in the future.<br /><br />If you'll indulge me, I&nbsp;have to share a few things especially since I can't tell anyone else until he makes it official and starts telling people himself! &nbsp;&nbsp;My son is going to my alma mater. &nbsp;I cannot describe the emotions I am feeling. &nbsp; I wanted to go to this school more than life itself from the time I was 14, and I got wait-listed!! &nbsp;I ended up having to transfer in the middle of my freshman year. &nbsp; It was a tough place...I went through a lot there. &nbsp;I loved it, but it crushed me, and I carried it with me for a long, long time.<br /><br />No one was more surprised than I when my son decided to apply. &nbsp;It was not his first choice, or his second. &nbsp;But, he got in first try and, he has decided to join the class of 2017. &nbsp;I think I cried about 14 times in the last 24 hours (sleep deprivation is not helping), I am so overwhelmed with memories and pride, and a weird feeling that the universe is righting itself. &nbsp;This kid is going to take it on and do it right. &nbsp; &nbsp;I ran the campus this morning, and regret and retribution has been replaced with hope and vision of good things to come.<br /><br />This Jon Stewart's alma mater too. &nbsp; &nbsp;That was a definite entry in the plus column when my son was making the decision!<br /><br />Name that second-oldest college in our nation....:)<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />
