Wow, this looks so great. The dress hangs so nicely on your frame. The shoes have a touch of tough, the jacket a bit of masculinity, to balance the dress. LOVE.

This is terrific! You've already identify the most important element: the balance of flow and structure that feels like you, is flattering, and is office appropriate. I like the scrunched sleeves -- after all, skin is "structure" too!

I think the abstract pattern is great for business, and also adds a bit of "zip" to a neutral outfit, to.

Hil, you have super duper fab legs in this dress(and sandals), love it with the blazer on, too!

I think you nailed it Hil! The structured blazer over flowy looks very office-competent yet very you.

Have you tried one of those sleeveless jacket/long gilet thingies? That might give you the same balance yet allow you to keep it on in the heat.

Terrific work outfit for you and I do think it is the structure of the blazers that make it work.

I love the look and agree that the structure of the blazer takes the dress and sandal combo somewhere they otherwise might not go. Maybe a linen blazer?

This looks pretty much perfect to me! I like the juxtapositions of the softer dress with the sharper blazer and dressy shoes. YLF for sure!

The jacket structure and softness of the dress certainly work for me. I like the proportions a lot.

Hello lovely fabber friends! Happy new year to you all!

This is the dress I wore on Christmas day, revisited for a day at the office.

I am absolutely loving the way this feels and looks, even though I know the blazer won’t be on past 9am, once the Jozi heat sets in, even in our air-conditioned office. I feel like this is a look I can really embrace for my work life and I would love your help in analysing whether it works and why it works? I think maybe it is to do with the (dark) neutrals and the softness of the dress combined with the relative structure of the blazer. I am craving a work day look that reflects me, my slightly offbeat and arty nature, while still being put together and stylish and suitable for a semi-corporate environment.

Thanks for looking and as always, any feedback is appreciated.
