The skirt looks great on you Una! Since you have proportionally long legs, doing a long torso look won't stumpify you much if at all (this one falls into the not at all category). So it's an interesting way to elongate for you that's less conventional. I like doing this as well (helps balance shoulders, too), but I usually need a wee bit of heel since my legs are shorter than yours.

I think the angle of the hem is elongating. It is also very flattering on you. Who would have thought a skirt you could wear hiking would look that great for regular wear.

Love this! In fact, after your post yesterday, I just happened to find myself in Athleta this morning. And that skirt just happened to come home with me. Skirt twins! I really like the way you've worn it lower..I'll have to try that. I'm short waisted, so I don't usually tuck but this just might work.
Btw, the jacket didn't work out. It was perfect in every way, except the length. It hit me at an odd place. The search continues...
YLF

Man I wish we had Athleta in Canada. What is up with that? Being a Gap brand and all, you'd think it would be more widely available...

I love this skirt!

I love this look and create a similar look with the Athleta Tee dress by layering a t-shirt or sweater on top. I have the dress in the grey stripe and in black, and it is amazingly versatile for travel. As you note, it is comfortable; it washes well (I hang it to dry) and I practically lived in these during a 10-day trip. The black version can be dressy, and I have even worn it with tights and booties with a sweater on top (San Francisco is cold in the summer). I don't know if I need the skirt as well, but it is a great find and I can attest to the general comfort and practicality.

Shannon, I need to road-test with tights. I think it might, and also the ruched factor might help disguise any creepage. But I do hate when skirts cling to tights, so it may need a slip.

That skirt is awesome on you. I think it works really well worn low like this because the little flare then hits at a great place.

I think a skirt worn lowt really works on your shape and your style. It looks relaxed and modern that way, and the length -- just touching your knees -- keeps it from being stumpifying.

Great find!

Looking long and lean to me! Great skirt. Athleta has some versatile stuff--I bought a tiered asymmetric knit skirt there that is awesome. Not as dressy but comfy enough to hike in. Loved the tulip dress you posted about earlier too. Did you order a petite? I'm tempted to give that one a try. Looking fab, Una!

This is post work so no shoes - I actually wore my oxblood slip-on oxfords. The skirt is so comfy! I have worn it here with my silk snakeskin buttondown, and done a sort of half-tuck. I'm also wearing the whole thing low, which seems to elongate my torso. For some reason I'm finding this to be a slimming look, although the usual goal is to elongate legs. Am I way off base?

I could easily wear this skirt hiking, it's so easy. It's replacing a Target black skirt that has developed the inevitable "cheap jersey" hole.

ALL feedback welcome!
