I will keep it all updated on that thread. I don't know if it's the Claritin or the olive oil or both OR just coincidence, and only time will tell. I tried the Claritin simply because we had it in the house (for DH's seasonal allergies) and the stores were closed for Thanksgiving.&nbsp;</p> <p>I have washed with olive oil in the past, during the winter &nbsp;months, to help with dry flaking skin, so I figured why not try that now (my skin IS dry,&nbsp;but not flaking). The olive oil feels really really good -- quite cooling on the skin. I am using it twice a day.&nbsp;</p> <p>Windchime - thank you for your post! I keep pondering the trigger connection, and coming up empty. My dermatologist suggested it was my diet and my diet is actually quite good. Earlier in the year, when this flushing started, I did a supplement regimen (mega vitamins, probiotics, flax seed, fish oil) and it didn't make a darn difference.&nbsp;&nbsp;Alcohol... I could understand... and yet, with all the alcohol I had on T-day (including red wine), NO flushing? There just seems no rhyme or reason! The only connection is that the flushing all started after/during&nbsp;two courses of antibiotics. I didn't post on your other thread, but I had pretty obvious rosacea--lots of flushing and break outs--for several years. I used to laugh at the list of triggers: heat, cold, sun, stress, alcohol, sugar, salt--in other words, my normal life! I tried everything including special diets. Nothing really worked, and then, it ended as abruptly as it began--when I got to the other side of menopause. Here I'd been blaming my "bad habits" for years, and the whole thing was chemically or hormonally induced. It was quite a relief to realize that. My skin is still a bit redder than it used to be, and I have to be sure to wear sun protection, but it's tons improved from a few years ago. Not sure which is working, the Claritin or the olive oil. As I said on my other thread you'd think that all the alcohol + rich foods would be a major rosacea trigger. I will say this: I am sleeping like a puppy. I'm taking the Claritin before bed. Maybe just maybe I have developed some sort of allergy. DH says I'm snoring really really LOUD though.</p> <p> </p>
