Definitely try replacing the heel cap before giving up!

If my experience is any indication, there is not a single do--it-yourself product that will fix slippery soles or heels. I have tried every gripper-strip known to mankind and have even adhered them with Krazy Glue, and they still don't stay stuck. This is a job for a cobbler.

I like Deborah's suggestion for a little more white in the top half of the outfit, but this does look nice. Those colors are great on you.

I totally understand the shoe issue! I broke a wrist 18 years ago because of some slippery soles. Take them to the cobbler for some non-slip heels and pads, and you'll be good to go.

Thank you everyone - much appreciated!

Deborah - it was only after I posted the photos that I saw too that another white item was needed up top, so thanks for the suggestion! I always appreciate the feedback!

Zapotee - I appreciate the suggestions for a wedge. I think I have something that will work!

Ah dang it! I'm sorry about the shoe slipping issue. If trying to fix the slippage does not work, I vote for a nice wedge shoe, in a neutral color. Even something a little chunky might work really nicely.

Krista I do like the outfit. I feel though that you might need some white higher up in the outfit to finish it off so to speak. I find I feel I am looking at 2 different outfit from top to bottom. A peal necklace, or another necklace with some white modern beads maybe?

I just wanted to chime in that that is a perfectly valid reason to buy shoes, IMO. At least it is in my world!

Great outfit! I love blue and white together. I agree, don't give up on those cute shoes. A cobbler may be able to do wonders.

I always have to take Nine West shoes to the cobbler for new heals. Nine West puts the plastic heals on all of their shoes and I have fallen several times.

Ceit and JR - thanks for looking out for me!
The bottom of the shoe is actually rubber - see the pic I attached, so there is some grip on the floor surface. It's just that the wooden platform doesn't bend, so when you are walking, the rubber sort of grips the floor, but the danger is in the slip factor from the wooden platform. These shoes are a true hazard and I'm now confident that the only reason I bought them is because I think they're pretty............

It is a sweet outfit for sure. White skirt is on my next summer's wish list.

Ceit has a great idea there. You can buy non-slip thingies to put on the bottom of your shoes. I might even have some I've never used. I'll have to check.

Krista, could you get rubber put on the shoes? Or scuff the sole up with some sandpaper to make them a bit less slippy?

Love the blues with the white skirt.

School officially starts next week but I am in full-time this week to prepare. It's the perfect week to road-test pretty little items I've purchased over the summer to see if they will make it when the rubber hits the road next Tuesday morning.

First road-test fail - these shoes. I spotted these shoes in early Spring and secretly coveted them all summer until I could afford to buy them. They are a peep toe pump with a wooden platform and they are a light white/grey python print. They are hot! And, on carpet, they are pretty good to walk on. But if you've been in a high school lately, you know that high schools are barely carpeted. So....... less than three steps on the freshly waxed linoleum this morning and I almost met my maker! It was oh-so-graceful! Not. So because I'm stubborn, I will probably try to wear these shoes a few more times because my magpie tendencies will not let the pretty little things rest, but they will not be in regular rotation. Booo!

In the meantime, I will gladly take suggestions for shoes to wear with this outfit, as I do like
the outfit and it passed the road-test for school-appropriate apparel.

Suggestions and feedback welcome! Thanks for looking, as always :)

Cardigan - Cleo Petites
Tank - Reitmans
Linen Skirt - Laura Petites
Shoes - Nine West
