I've worn it at least 4 times since then (which is a lot for me, as in high summer I don't wear skirts often): it's my first experience in a full circle skirt, and I've discovered I absolutely love them. The slightest movement on my part sets the skirt swaying, and it's just so delicious. This was actually good timing, as I was debating as to whether to sew the blue linen/cotton fabric I got for Christmas into a dirndl-style gathered skirt or circle one and couldn't figure out which (hence why I haven't made the skirt yet). Now, I definitely want a circle skirt, even though the hemming will be much trickier. (The skirt's hem isn't even in these pics: that's mainly because I took this photos after sitting &amp; laying down, and I'd tugged part of the skirt lower out of the belt without realizing it. When the skirt's on its hanger, the hem's a bit uneven, but luckily the fullness conceals it enough for my tastes. When I make my skirt, though, I'll be sure to let it hang a day or two before final hemming!)</p> <p>Anyway, yesterday was quite cool (high in the 80s), so I pulled it out of the closet again! As the skirt itself has quite a bit of beaded embellishment, I kept things simple up top with a grey short sleeve tee, with&nbsp;my bird nest brooch (gifted by the lovely Sarah the White) echoing the slightly warmer shades of those paisleys. The skirt's waist is too big for me, so I need to paper bag-style belt it, and I chose this belt as the brown would echo the skirt's brown edging, but the cream fabric of the rest kept it summery and me comfortable (I love belts with elastic in them, they make for easy wearing!). I was curious to see if my hair would stay wavy from being braided earlier, but these pictures were taken a few hours later than the k/r jacket ones, and you can see the wave is falling out. I'd need to add a bit of gel to my braids if I really want it to last all day: oh well.</p> <p>Anyway, as my hair was down, I decided to wear a hat on my walk. It was overcast, so I didn't need a big brim for sun protection, and I thought the colours of this little one worked best. Brown flats to echo the belt, and a brown cardigan for sun protection that didn't mess up the look too much&nbsp;(I just finished knitting an alternative sun protection option last night that I think would've worked better here, but I wasn't done at the time), and I was done.</p> <p>After dinner, I ended up meeting my sister &amp; a good friend at a bar for some dart throwing &amp; live music. Luckily it wasn't a dressy place, so I just put my hair up in a tuck, switched the flats for my Dansko platform sandals, left the cardi behind as the sun had set,&nbsp;and felt perfectly appropriate. The swirly skirt made dancing to the music and celebrating lucky dart throws (I've only played once before, four years ago) much more fun.&nbsp;My version of day to night, hehe. </p>
