But now that I've found a formula that's comfortable and works for my lifestyle and figure, it's pretty easy. What's hard is winter dressing - which I have traditionally loved. </p> <p>Dressing my pear shape in pants is actually a lot harder that throwing on a forgiving, floaty midi - and the layers I love tend to overwhelm my small frame. and that's why I had such a hard time last winter - because I realized that how I was dressing want writing for me anymore. That's why I am putting so much focus and effort into winter this year.) I need the right pants, the right outfit formula, and colors that inspire me to get me through a long, LONG cold winter in comfort (key) and style. I'm glad that these outfits give a feel for my style.</p> <p>I've been thinking a lot about the recent discussions on the forum about focused vs. wide ranging style and I think this summer for me was a mix of both - staying true to silhouettes and styles that I know work for me (fitted to + midi flared skirt), but also trying colors, patterns and shapes I'm not normally drawn to through thrifting (blue sack dress, culottes.) I think thrifting is a great way to scratch the itch of trying something new and it helped me bring newness into my wardrobe this summer without spending a ton. I've been very influenced by everyone here and especially the fall style posts. I always feel uncomfortable in shorts or too short dresses and never can land on a good formula. But this summer has been easy, dressing-wise. Ever since I landed on my formula of midi skirt and tailored blouse or dress last year, I've found summer much less stressful wardrobe wise.</p> <p>I didn't buy anything this summer except for thrifted finds. For casual wear, I always have a hard time in summer finding something that is flattering and comfortable. This year I decide I wanted Italian linen and I thrifted some great and flattering Italian linen dresses that I spent every weekend floating around in, pretending I was in Rome. </p> <p>Everything in photos thrifted except:<br /> Pink and Navy silk tops: old workhorses from Ted Baker (3 yrs old)<br /> Multi color pleated skirt from club Monaco (3 yrs old)<br /> White midi from Shoshana (3 yrs old)<br /> Printed Pencil skirt from Joe Fresh (6 yrs old)<br /> White pants and taupe blazer from BCBG (2-3 yrs old)<br /> Striped dress:. CM 2 Yrs old</p> <p>bonus: my fall look today! Theory suede Moto, old BR sweater and much worn thrifted knife pleat skirt. </p> <p>Comments and suggestions always welcome! </p>
