I think the grey plays nicely with the brown and makes it look more springy. I also like the light blue top in 2 and the red v-neck in 4. And you could add a necklace or bracelet too. The "farmer' Look you mentioned is something I worry about too with gingham, esp. red/white/blue gingham,&nbsp;so #5 isn't my favorite. I bought long sleeved powder blue gingham and have yet to wear it. I think that the "country" look could be subdued by adding an interesting pendant necklace or wearing it with skinny jeans or some other modern addition.
