Both toppers look great! And I don't see any weird pulling either. But I think I may be a bit more wideset, so maybe I don't see it because I have the issue.

You rock that suit! I like that you were able to easily de-suit the look for the lab; no surprise, but I just love those two shades together. I hear you fellow wide-set gal, my "pulling" also seems to just be fabric collapsing in the center.

Thanks, everyone! I had fun wearing this - wearing a full suit is still a novelty for me so I enjoy it for a change. I'm glad to hear the bust rippling thing is not a big deal to most of you either.

Columbine, there is actually no wrinkle when it's hanging on a hanger, only when it's on my body, so I can't steam it out unfortunately. I think it happens because there's actually empty space underneath it.

Janet, a pendant is a good idea! I'll try that next time.

Day Vies, I think this is actually the first time I've ever worn a real suit out in the wild. I've worn the individual pieces by themselves a lot, and I have made fake "suits" with black jackets and non-matching black skirts, but that's as close as I've gotten.

Honestly I could have gotten away with wearing separates, or a dress with the blazer over it, but like I said, it was fun to wear the suit as a suit for a change.

That halogen top is so pretty on you. Perfect color and fit! I think this is the first time I've seen you in a suit. Still very "Diana" though especially with the cardi.

I really like the full-suit version - I see no issues with the peplum top, I think it fits and flatters, including the color. You do polished well when needed.

Queen Peplum, you rock that style. Wow.

YES. Suits photograph better in motion - especially black suits. I love the peplum - The Diana Flirty Touch - under that suit.

Had you not mentioned it I would not have noticed the pulling. You wear a peplum top so well! I tried one on once and was embarrassed at how it looked - and I was by myself in the dressing room

I always look at pictures first and I didn't notice the pulling at all. I don't think it's a big issue. I love that top on you. I have never found a peplum that works for me.

I like all versions, but particularly like the suit! But I know what you mean...I don't wear them either.

I don't know whether you could iron or steam the peplum to remove the wrinkle? Starch? Maybe it would just pull again. I think that would bug me. However the peplum and teal color look so nice on you!

lovely!! - I'm not noticing major pullage. I get it too sometimes with heavier knots - but I get it to due to my ultra wide ribcage as I'm not overly busty either!! Really like the sweater with the peplum as well!!

Hmm, I think the bust thing is just something we live with. I know I do. Nothing particularly wrong to the eye about it, you know? It looks perfectly normal and you look very nice.

I would never have thought to put an asymmetric cardi over a very structury top like that, but I think it really works. The color combo is great.

Plus, I want to say that it is a great feeling when alternative versions of a look are both/all satisfying, instead of the "well, this is how I want to look, but this is how I have to look" thing that I know I have felt SO many times. YLF has convinced me that we need enough items that work with each other that we can have many more combos that we like in more circumstances. I know it makes such a difference in my own mood.

I have a business-dress event to attend tonight (a lawyer's banquet with J) and it is FREEZING today so I figured I'd break out my suit. I haven't had the opportunity to wear it as a suit yet, although I have worn both pieces individually. I am wearing my teal peplum top as a shell underneath.

There are very few things I feel uncomfortable wearing to lab, but a full suit is one of them. So the "unsuited" version for lab has an asymmetrical blue cardigan instead of the suit jacket to make it less formal.

Big Longchamp Planetes tote today, as I needed a bag big enough to carry the suit jacket around in without crushing it too badly.

Bonus outtake in #4. I actually think the suit photographs better in motion, as all that black is hard to get a good picture of when standing still.

By the way, I think this peplum top does that bust pulling thing Sarah was mentioning in a another thread. I don't have a particularly big bust, but my boobs are wideset so there is an empty space between them under the top. The material is a ponte knit, so a bit more substantial, and it doesn't want to settle into the gap, hence the pulling. It doesn't really bother me though; does it bother you?

Banana republic suit, Halogen peplum top, Anthro cardigan, Everybody booties, Longchamp tote.
