Black pencil skirt, navy tee shirt and black espadrilles, which are on their last legs, literally and metaphorically. The camera hides my "Strong&amp;Simple" necklace (secret Santa Gift from 2 years ago).</p> <p><b>(2) Tuesday</b> <i><a rel="nofollow" href="http://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/my-version-of-the-printed-tee-pants-ensemble">Angie's musings</a></i> on her personal take on last Fridays outfit formula gave me another YLF-AHA moment. With all the pattern at play, I initially thought the ensemble was something I'd admire on others. Then I realized I could copy Angie: her lace top became my eyelet top, her floral b&amp;w pants became my striped grey skirt (the only patterned bottom I could use for this formula. Bonus: not yet worn this year!) I am more than happy with the outcome and the new way of combining the existing pieces. </p> <p><b>(3) Wednesday</b> Technically, I was not dressing in the dark (it was 5:50 a.m. and the sunrise was already over), but after checking the photo it seemed like it. One of the first realisations of how useful WIWs are is the very fact that I can't see in the mirror what I see on the photo. Taking photo magically removes subjective layer, which seems to dictate to my brain to see what I want to see, rather than what's really there. Bottom line: that red shirt, which I wore for the first time this summer, is now too big and needs intervention if I'm to keep it. And I want to, because I love it's cheerful strawberry vibe. And I might finally replace the buttons, btw. Posting to keep myself accountable to fix the shirt before I wear it again.</p> <p><b>(4) Thursday</b> Dress. So. Easy. My new favorite necklace, delicate round pendant on thin golden chain. </p> <p><b>(5) Friday</b> White on white with white for the hottest day of the week. Bookending red footwear with lipstick (not much left by the afternoon when I took the photo, but it was there in the morning). I actually bought the top with this very outfit in mind. It's a different cut of top, which I hoped would work with my favorite summer skirt. The whole outfit looks like volume-on-volume to my eye, but it is breezy, was right for the hot and felt different within familiar parameters. Plus, eyelet and heavy linen texture play nicely to create depth which I found very pleasing.&nbsp;</p> <p>Enter new white shopper bag. The day before on the way from work I spotted it and it seemed perfect (the right size for <i>everything</i> I carry to work, simple style, nice geometric cut out pattern) and I was keen to buy it, but wasn't sure if it was sale goggles in action. But, having slept on it, I knew I wanted it. As luck would have it, I avoided the agony of waiting to buy it after work - I actually came too early to the train station this morning, my train was a bit late, and that allowed me enough time to go and buy the bag. I find that the discipline and focus of any challenge I did in the past helped me move forward with more clarity, has greatly increased my appreciation of my wardrobe and best of all - made getting dressed even more fun.</p> <p>I'll keep it simple this time - my challenge is just to post more WIWs as &nbsp;weekly round-ups, just like I used to do before.</p> <p>All outfits are worn to work. I work in a very casual environment, which translates to having freedom to follow my idea of how and why (not) to dress for workplace.
