I think it all looks great - boots and all! Aida has great thoughts on the loafers. I'd do metallic too. That would be cool. But what you have on speaks to me, it's really what I'd wear too. I hear ya on the tanks tops! I've started to order the Tall tanks from Old Navy, and although that helps a bit, I can't say the problem goes away. My take is that the stretchy tank gets sucked up by the waistline (although I don't have much of a waist being close to a rectangle), then the moving tank pulls the over layer up. Gah!

I like the boots here, but I am a fan of casual, boho inspired looks. A heel would contrast with boho top here. The only heeled brand of shoe that has worked for my annoying feet is Abeo from the Walking company. These have a 3 inch heel BUT also have a built in orthotic. I cannot wear them everyday but when I crave a heel, these last me 8 hours, which is unheard of for my feet with this height of heel. I am hoping next season they come out with a taller shaft height boot as these hit me at mid calf. But the two toned suede/leather look is fun.

Really like the tie died sweatshirt and Inlike the flat boots - I agree with Aida I think the flats look fresher and funkier than bells would.

Patent is another good one! For the longest time, I gave up on sneakers until I got diagnosed with arthritis this year. I got a pair of patent teal sneakers from Fitflop which I wear on weekends (because I feel so slackerly wearing them for work!). Patent sneakers made a convert out of me. I'll likely try the same for loafers!

*nodnod* That makes sense! A metallic loafer is not a true "borrowed from the boys" look (I mean, I sure can't picture my husband wearing metallic loafers!), which probably helps. My loafers are black patent and have a rounder toe box and very low vamp, the other types don't feel right to me. I think you're onto something here

@Aida: I've been trying on some loafers and I seem to be unusually drawn to the metallic ones! They will definitely be easier to wear. I think the key to daintiest loafers in the toe box. Many loafers are square, so if there's one that's rounder and nearly almond shaped, I feel they're the most worthwhile!

Oh I hear you, I have a hard time with mensy footwear myself! I try to find shoes in this category that are daintier and that helps a lot. I see zero chances of you looking mannish by donning a dainty oxford or loafer :D

Thank you ladies!

@Karina: the top-tugging is annoying! I wish I can just find some long enough tank tops out there so they don't move!

@Aida: you are right - the menswear style will give it an interesting juxtaposition. My biggest issue is training my eyes - I just seem to like the polish and heels more than the casual flats! I avoid a lot of menswear/masculine stuff in general out of fear that I'll look like a man (ok - that's a deeper issue altogether), but I know one traditionally "masculine" element does not make me "mannish". I guess my style just tends to veer towards the "girly" side :\ I'm still a bit uncertain whether I should push myself to a more "casual/less girly" look for the sake of comfort.

Great sweatshirt! I think the flat boots give it a funkier vibe than heels would, which would give you a sleeker and dressier vibe. Flat menswear footwear would also be a fun funkier option. Plus those types of shoes would be good juxtaposition against the chiffon. Just some ideas so your poor feet stay happy :)

I love this outfit! Looks wonderful on you and all together. Isn't it funny how you just can't tell about an outfit until you've road tested it? I hate having to tug at my tops, but I often end up with that issue. Best of luck shopping the tall boots!

I was moody all day. Must be the rain...

This outfit: I was drawn to the chiffon sweatshirt effect. I normally do not wear sweatshirts, but COME ON! This is chiffon.... With a tie-dye pattern nonetheless.

Felt OK overall. It was airy, breathable, comfy. My work environment is very casual so I can get away with this look. I only really have two issues with it:

1. My tank top underneath the "sweatshirt" isn't long enough. I keep having to pull it down. Luckily, my Jeggings were structured and thick so they are passable as pants

2. I like it better with heeled tall boots. I really really wish I didn't because I only allow myself to wear my Rockports once or twice a month so that my bunions/arthritis will not worsen. Much as I love my Fluevogs, they're not streamlined enough for the look I'm going for. I'll just have to wait until I have the budget for tall low heeled Camper boots if I really want the heeled streamlined look.

Top: Young, Fabulous and Broke
Tank top: Old Navy
Jeans: American Eagle
Boots: Fluevog
