The sandals I wore have a slight metallic finish that adds some polish even though they are casual shoes. I agree the open toe part isn't appropriate for many work settings, plus they have 3" heels! They are my highest pair, but very comfortable. </p> <p>Would Ghillies work with your style? I found some taupe/light snake skin almond toe Ghillies at Top Shop when reading the blog, In Brogue, that I think would look very nice with a dress, and yet they are flat. They remind me of a very comfortable pair of similar shoes I wore when I traveled in Europe as a college student. i only wore skirts and dresses on the trip and I only had two pairs of shoes with me, the Ghillies, and some flip flops for the beach. Maybe they aren't the right combo you're looking for? The white sandals are great, comfortable but interesting too. I think you indeed rescued the pink dress--love the vest. I'd even try without belt (unless there is a funny seam) to add to the linear vest drape.<br />I wish I had shoes somewhat like what you wear with the pink dress, but closed-toe for my work, some hybrid of shootie-sandal.
